Moral of the story:

If you run a red light, you might be hit by a car or truck.

The DB's deserve their cred for that Grey's Anatomy BS.

The funniest part of that episode... To get's impaled by a *spoke... and then dies from internal bleeding.. .I wonder which DB that would be....

either the bicyclists interviewed we're edited into idiocy or they're idiots.
if a dude blasts a stop light and gets pasted it is not the car's fault.

a tragedy yes, but fault of the driver, no.

might be both their faults if the driver's breaking the law too.

my lesson for you all: don't get hit.

Outlaw bicycle races:
- blow through red lights
- ignore other traffic laws
- and confound motorists

How is this any different than your daily commute?

Getting killed sucks, but if I run a red light I expect a car to be running a green...

I want everyone to know that I stop or at least nearly stop and look both ways before running a red light. Even on one way streets. I've watched too many people go the wrong way down second avenue to do anything but look both ways.

This is news? Sounds more like a Darwin to me.

A Darwin, with a parental overtone...

What an asshat.

Basically what Ben and Chris(?) said.

And by the way - I'm 225lbs. If I hit you on my bike at 15-20mph I bet you'll end up busted up. If cowboy in the video wants to take the Pepsi challenge I'd be happy to give him a run for his money.

I put a lady in the hospital for a week at 180lbs doing less than 15mph. You could easilly flat out kill someone if you hit/land on them just right.

That shop-monkey footage is most likely heavilly edited to fufill editorial filler for "bicycle-fascist crazy guy ramblings" so the cagers feel better about themselves.

If you get mowed down blatantly running a red light I'm not even putting a ghost bike up, let alone a memorial ride. 2008 Darwin Award candidate for sure.

I too slow down and stop at red lights.

If I ran a red light and got hit by a car, bicyclist or hit a pedestrian, I would be at fault.

As far as the dude in the bike-shop, no amount of digital editing of his interview would have his spout such bullshit as "if you get hit with a bicycle you probably won't even go to the hospital." He must have been referring to his daughter's huffy with training wheels.

If I hit you riding my bike, we'll both probably end up in the hospital.

I wrote them to see what was up with this, here's their response.

"Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Obviously the screen set-up
cut off the right side of the letter "n" and made it appear to be an
"r." Our web people are fixing it.
