I have no route to post. I was busy doing the "Tour de Peanut" last night to figure one out. I have to teach a class at the shop on Sunday also, so I may not even be able to make it.
Jessica mentioned a submarine museum worth going to. Larry has lots of routes. David is a weiner. Either way, Bauhaus at 11:00 AM.

How about down to Renton to hook up with the Cedar River Trail/May Valley loop? Should be 50ish miles with a hill or two and some nice scenery.
It would be nice to save the excitement of the submarine museum for when Beau can come.

Havn't been out to Cedar/May Valley before, sounds good to me.
Weather is supposed to be decent Sunday, but I might be getting a bit sick, hopefully I can make it.

I'm down for the submarine museum, but Alastair wants to go to the gun range the following Sunday. There's enough guns to go around so we can all shoot. The subs will sill be there the week after.

A'ight, so Shootin' Sunday is 3/23? Alister was thinking that range in Bellevue, right?

So, how much riding with guns are we going to do? I'm getting a lawyer on retainer for this one.

Al knows enough about the law to keep us from getting arrested on the way there. I know enough not to shoot anything but the target. I'm sure we can keep all of us alive and out of jail. No drinking beforehand, just to be extra-safe.

Frankly, I know enough about the law to get us out of anything up to a bank job.
Nobody brings any ammo
Nobody drinks before we shoot
Legal firearms only
Everyone who has a firearm must also have a valid ID
No felons can carry any firearms (but can shoot once we get there)
No illegal substances devices, or apparatus

We are talking about going to Wade's, yes?
Yep, rifles too. You can rent guns there. (Including AR-15's and Uzi's)

The Palestenians have tried this method, with varying degrees of success.

gun range day! im in.
im assuming that it's legal to carry a pistol in a bag on my bike (unloaded) since im just transporting the firearm, not concealing? (i dont have a permit to carry loaded)
i have a rifle and a pistol, both .22 caliber that i can bring. i might look a bit funny with a rifle strapped to my back, but ill manage
ive been looking into buying a new revolver, wanted to try out some of the guns they have for rent there, lots of revolvers to try out
if you have eye and ear protection, bring it, it will save you a couple bucks in rentals. glasses have always been fine for eye protection. anyone that wants to shoot my pieces are welcome to come along and try them, as long as you havent secretly wished for a chance to shoot me

Just to be clear: gun range day is the 23rd, and some other route (perhaps Vashon Island) will be used this coming Sunday (the 16th)?

Yep. You are correct.
Of course as soon as "ride bikes to shoot guns" was mentioned, this week's ride got a bit buried. Wish my Mauser C-96 wasn't in such bad condition, because there's no way i'm riding to Bellevue with my SKS.

I'll carry the SKS. I'll borrow John's giant backpack. It's more than big enough.
I'm gonna find out if I can go tomorrow. I have a feeling my customer is going to flake out on me.

Ok, ride tomorrow @ 11am @ Bauhaus.
Remember, Shootin' Sunday is next week, NOT this week. So don't show up with a howitzer in your bag for a 60 mile ride.

I'll show up with a howitzer in my pants. Is that okay?

Has anybody checked that the ranges will be open on Easter day? Not that they aren't exclusive, shooting after church is a great American tradition, but this might be an extra-special day.
