Find ONE (1) streetlight that is out, or is blinking, report it, and unless someone else decides to find a few, I'll give you $40. Second place and you still get $20.
So far, zero (0) people have submitted anything, so it is all yours.
Deadline: Saturday 8am.
I found 50 dead or blinking lights in 90 minutes without really trying. I'm sure you can do better than that.
Or, maybe I just picked a lame contest idea....but $40 still buys some decent whiskey.

But if you report it it gets turned back on.

BTW, I submitted my list of 50 dead streetlights that I noticed and Seattle City Light is still working on them:
Quote:
A quick update for you...as you probably have seen, we've repaired some of the lights in that area. The rest of the lights pose a bigger problem, and one of our Engineers has begun meeting with SDOT, as there are some bridge structural issues that are involved before we can go any further. I'll keep you posted!

Are the lights suppose to cycle on and off as an energy conservation measure?

Maybe, but some Na vapor lights turn off for a spell if they get too hot.

When I asked on the phone, Seattle City Light says "no, they aren't supposed to cycle on and off"...that is an indication that they need to be repaired.
