The stop-sign-stakeouts are back.

I got caught rolling one at he PCC in Fremont.

The cop said they were heading down to Pioneer Square, they should be there by now.

ownd

In all seriousness though, If there were something like it, I'd be happy to contribute annually to a bike ticket community fund to pay for stupid shit like this. Everyone throws 25 bucks in the pot. Next time someone gets a bike ticket, comes outta the fund.

Hint: Don't roll that stop sign. Most other ones you can get away with, but that's the yuppiest intersection for miles around: You have PCC, a GYM, A tech campus, and the red door alehouse.

It's been said before, but here we go again...

It's a stop sign. It's not a slow-down sign. It's not a yield sign. If you don't stop at it, and you get a ticket, it's your fault. It's not the system screwing you over, it's not the Man coming down on you, it's just you.

I say that as someone who rolls stop signs most of the time. I very well may have gotten a ticket this morning at that very intersection this morning if they hadn't reopened the Burke back in October. Lucky me. At some point I won't get so lucky and I'll have my very own $100 ticket.

For the record, I'm not complaining. One ticket in three years. That's like 1/10 of a cent for every roll, a very reasonable cost for such privilege. Don't get in too much of a huff, this isn't the Slog.

Unhuffed.

My favorite reason to stop at stop signs is to let squids who I just passed blow past me. I'm just that kind of of humanitarian.

It's a good chance to test your sprints.

Just look dumbfounded, it worked for me once.

Is that where you got your "sickness" from?

And here I was, foolishly thinking you had simply caught a cold!

The Real Change guy in front of PCC said they were busting cars for running the stop sign the day before. At least the cops are equal opportunity enforcers at that stop sign.

What's the fee for running that stop sign in a car? Is it also $103?

They were out on Mercer Island yesterday too (around 5:30pm). Thanks to the random cyclists ride in the other direction who alerted us.

(mitigate, fie discovery, appeal to contest, request officers presence, request payment plan.... then... paper trail and admin of citation to city > $103 citation.)
