Thanks to Peter for re-invigorating development on this. the John Zapper user script is now called asshatZapper and will hide an arbitrary number of asshats' posts on this here forum:

http://henryrose.info/grease/asshatzapper.user.js

If you install this one you should probably un-install the old one.

I just realized that I have no idea if john has posted anything here in a couple weeks, that's amazing!

Oh Henry. I hope it works for you. Really!

I've been too busy training aerialists for our summer show and pursuing my PhD... to post or ride with the pointy's.
(p.s. I have a discount code for peeps who will promise to cycle to our show... email me for it)

Sorry to not be present... my life's haaaaaaaaaard.

(P.S. HenryHenryHenry... thank you for creating a script... no matter how poorly written... that will prevent the trolls from reading posts that will cause them to spew crap out to the masses. There are few things... if ANY that I appreciate as much as a device that prevents YOU and your .84 buddies from reading what I ( and others you are intolerant of...) write. Imagine... you created a device to limit your propagation of hate. Amazing. ttfe I guess. 8-)

Henry, can you see quoted posts? As Ben points out, you really don't want to miss this one.

Clowns scare me.
Acrobats are virtually clowns.
(Modus Ponens) Your posse of tough looking acrobats scares me shiteless.

Please do not post anymore pictures of clowns, acrobats, or groups of clowns and acrobats. I may soil my trousers.

Anyway, back on topic... Everything else looked like straightforward javascript, except that huge block of Yahoo! code. What is that doing?

That's the DOM package from the YUI ... minified. Gives you nice things like getAncestorByClassName() and getNextSibling().

I see. I was wondering where you were getting your structure traversing code from.

By the way, I'm totally being serious about clowns. I was abused by one at my fifth birthday fete. But on the bright side, while I might have repressed memories of clowns, somewhere there is a clown who struggles to walk properly because of a really bad shin fracture.

Since I can't be nerdy about computer stuff, let me be nerdy about logic.
I think this is more an example of the categorical syllogism than modus ponens. Its structure is something like:
P1: All things that are clowns are things that scare me.
P2: Acrobats are things that are clowns.
C: Therefore, your posse of acrobats scares me.

The modus ponens version would be more like:
P1: If it's a clown it scares me.
P2: An acrobat is a clown.
C: Therefore...

(as if it matters)

Bump.

Because I just heard about it and it's cool.

Also, there's a program for Chrome that makes it execute user scripts.

Check out Greasemetal. I'm not cool enough to have been aware of Greasemonkey, but I guess this is pretty much the same deal.
