It seems to make up for lack of canti bosses with fork water bottle bosses, low-rider bosses, and double front eyelets. But then they went and used a 170mm rear hub, so no swapping front and rear wheels. Oh, also has replaceable derailleur hanger, but that means vertical dropouts vs. The Pugsley's track ends.

You can't really build Lee's bike as nicely with the Mukluk, since the Mukluk has the vertical drops and really isn't setup with a way to tension the chain. The 170mm rear spacing has a weird adapter to make 135mm wheels and disk brakes work, but it is a bit hacky.

The Mukluk mostly seems to be an attempt to make the whole setup more affordable (and slightly lighter). $1500 for a complete bike is attractive, however to me that idea of a Rohloff and a Pugsley makes even more sense (derailleurs aren't great in snow and ice).

My understanding is that the Mukluk complete actually ships with a proper 170mm spaced hub(not sure if available separately), and that the adapter is just if you want to use some other 135mm spaced hub(which would be built offset and therefore still not swappable with the front).

See the comment here:5th from last comment

but, yeah, IG hub seems a natural fit for fatbikes.

I am distracting myself from these posts about pugsleys, because:

1) I really want one
2) I really really don't need one
3) Kori will really for real kill me if I bring home another bike
4) especially if there's no justification whatsoever at all for owning that bike.

So, if you accidentally leave a puggsley on my doorstep or at my parents house in west seattle I might accidentally build it up once I sell some other bikes, but if I pay real money which I need to do things like eat and pay for school, well, it's not worth my life. So, anyone want to pay way too much for a 56cm smoke grey surly crosscheck with really nice wheels and your choice of several different nice derailleur setups?

$350 frame and fork Eric. It's your size too. You can build it one little piece at a time. Kori will never know!

someday I would love to screw around with a Rokon (the Pugsley of motorcycles)

2 wheel drive. Each wheel holds 5 gallons of the fluid of your choice, or empty them and float across the river.

I lied - the Pugsley frame and fork is an 18". I don't know what the hell I was thinking. Oh that's right - I wasn't.

Hey someone buy my Toshiba Regza 42in 1080p flatscreen TV for $600 - do $750 and I'll throw in the Yamaha HTR-6030 5.1 tuner, the 5 original surround sound speakers + sub-woofer with upgraded cable, and the upgraded pair of Sony something or other column speakers with it. You've been to my house for movie night. You know it's sick.

Thousand bucks get's you the Media Center computer with it. Has 1Tb of internal disk space right now, has Ubuntu and mythtv installed on it. Comes with a couple analog tuner cards, fiber optic sound, I'll throw in a HD Homerun dual HD channel tuner box with it (translates HD signal and then streams it to MPEG 2 over the network). Do it before the end of the month and I'll help you install it.

I am not selling the Drobo or the 4+Tb movie library. Yet.

Kona Jake 2006 cyclocross frame, 60cm, (72.5 sta, 72 hta, 180 ht, 59.5 tt, 42.5 chainstays), plenty of room for racks and fenders and 35mm tires, no dents but fair amount of paint scratches from locking up. $80

Surly Long Haul Trucker fork, 1 1/8", 260mm steertube remain. $30

Take both and I'll leave the headset on (Cane Creek S3)

Buy my custom splatter painted fenders!
I bought SKS P50 fenders at Gregg's and they told me they were for 26'' wheels. After I painted them I went to put them on my bike and discovered that they were actually for 700c wheels :(

Soooo they are now for sale. I spent $55 on the fenders, not including the money I spent on uber-expensive Sherwin Williams Exterior paint, plus urethane for a top-coat and the time I spent actually painting the damn things.

Please, take these off my hands. Thanks!

Inclined to think that they should let you return them, as the store gave you bad information, custom paint notwithstanding.

But, carry on, and good luck.

To be (somewhat) fair, most online sources I can find for the P50 lists them in one size only, and says they're for 700c OR 26.

For example, Harris says: 26 x 1.5-1.95
700 x 35-45

Peter white only lists them for 26x1.9, while Jenson says 700x38-45. Tree Fort Bikes has both listed(for the same SKU), just like Harris.

What does the product tag say? Still sucks that an employee didn't fully know their product for whatever application you asked about, but I'm guessing they are certainly not returnable now.

They will work fine. The SKS website says the 50mm fenders are made for 700, which will give you better coverage anyway and should not deter you from installing them. I wish I could say the same for the P60s, which are too short for good coverage on 50-559 (700x50mm) tyres.

They look like crap installed around a 26" wheel, if you're the kind of person who cares about how a fender looks enough to actually paint them.

My best guess is SKS makes two 50mm fenders, one both sizes, and some miscommunication with a distributor has bike shops claiming that the same product will work for both.

I got around 30 hits for each CL post - of which a significant portion were bots, and a very small percentile seemed to be more on the level.

I half expected one of you jerks to reply and try to troll me through the ad. Ha! Two chances you had!

Turns out fall isn't a great time of year to sell a portable industrial grade air conditioner so yeah, it might go into storage.

@ alex half considered it but the thought of sanding down those paint glooped plastic fenders to re-paint... Ugh

Seriously, how much for the AC?

I am not an idiot that forgets that summer will probably (cf this summer) happen again next year, and as such, knows that the fall is a great time to buy an AC.

Have to sell.
iphone 3g 8Gb Black, asking $150

So I am selling my iphone. I know some of you point83 folks eat them like candy.

So the asking price is on the low end b/c the mute switch fell off. (In practice this has not been an issue for me since I turn down the ring volume and am fine) and there is a hairline crack along the back plastic. This has been there the last 6 months and has not been an issue for me either.

The front glass is intact and in great shape, no scratches and it's never been replaced. I found I used the front of the phone much more than the back.

I can take pictures of it tonight but save me the trouble and just buy it.

PM me if you want to buy it.

Talk to Ray about the iPhone. I think they're starting to become a new business project for him. I'm pretty sure he'd be interested in it.

Anyone need some wheels?

-26" 32 hole wheelset
-Alex DA 26 rims
-Shimano Deore LX hubs 135mm rear spacing
-14g straight gauge DT Swiss spokes with brass nipples
-Handbuilt by me (for those who don't know, I do this for a living)

I was going to put these on my Alien, but they don't look weird enough. Rear hub is slightly used and in excellent condition. Everything else is brand new. Matching skewers included.

$150 for you guys. Going on CL if no one here wants them.
