No one's saying a thing, so I'm going to the Two Bells. See you (very small) all at Westlake.

You need to rethink the power dynamics of that relationship.

My capoeira class is canceled of course. So see y'all at Westlake :-). I'm borrowing a friend's mountain bike, which had been locked up since it got cold. The U lock was frozen, but after breaking the key I managed to work it loose.

7:56pm EDIT: F-A-I-L.

north fremont is one big ole sheet of ice and i aint got no ice tires. every turn was a slide out or a full on fall. if i only had to ride straight, it would have worked. it's beautiful out right now and i am soooo envious. HAVE FUN! Stay upright.

FAIL here tonight as well. Had the right tires for snow biking, but not the right footwear.

Just a few minutes from home, I realized I'd forgettng my damn neoprene booties, aaargh!!! At first I figured ahh what the heck, I'll tough it out (was kinda late, as usual) ... but then by the time I got downtown my feet were fuckin popsicles. :P So I turned around and headed home.

I'd meant to wear the hiking boots (since I did currently have flat pedals on the bike) but wore the porous bike shoes just outta habit I guess.

Anyway, hope tonight was another disasterously fun snow biking night!

That was one of the more awesome things I've ever done on a bike.

I did finally wipe out on the way down Stone Way, which was bound to happen after all my comments about not having fallen today. I'm so glad I put flat pedals on my MTB and can wear hiking boots on it now.

Hope everyone else got home safe.

I wiped out about 30 feet from my place in the UD, laughed, pulled over and took the buckets off so I only had flats for the night. I made it safely to the race start and the drinks afterward, then ate shit three times between Leny's and home a mile away. The last wipeout is what I'll feel tomorrow - I was going a good clip and didn't expect to lose it at all. Awesome. I wouldn't have it any other way. Especially the drinking-a-liter-and-then-wiping-out-three-times-to-get-home part.

DFL for December!

I managed not to crash the whole night, but I was being pretty damn cautious.

There really should be a ride next Tuesday. Who's in?

No, no, the Washington State Supreme Court is why you don't have a wife.

im 100 percent surprised that i still have teeth today, i only had one fall last night and i managed to run off of the bicycle as it went out from under me. i just got back from riding out to the udistrict twice, some roads are dry, some are iced over solid. it's just now starting to refreeze a bit and getting dangerous again.

5 shots of liquor at schultzy lunch was fantastic

"I raced in the preliminary December race and pulled a total Rosie Ruiz. Dropping back from the pack, I circled around behind the grandstand to the trail and hid, until I could just see the racers approaching.

Then, I hopped on my bike, and panting furiously, sprinted the last 50 yards or so of the course, arriving to amazement and cheers."

Last night was ridiculous and rad. I think the professor deserves the trophy though. I crashed 3 times in about 30 seconds on the way out from Lennys.

The makers has been hitting the spot all day. I just finished off some delicious curry and made some fudge. And I'm enjoying a 6 pack of michelob cask ale. Not bad for a shit beer.

Cheers everybody.

Cheers everybody indeed. I'm supremely impressed and awed at how well last night went. The entire idea screamed disaster, and yet:

* Over 30 people came to drink and cheer on the 2 races
* Professor Dave showed that he's cooler than you are
* No one got (seriously) hurt. (despite Derrick's "let's see what happens when I throw this firework over here" plan)

Hot damn that was fun.
