Try old political signs, carboard boxes, or just a garbage bag.
And google 'seattle steepest streets' if you're really into suicidal drops.

I'm settling for a Tupperware container lid. I imagine it highly unlikely there's anywhere they aren't sold out of sleds.

I already did that of course. I'm planning a circuit of the steepest streets in the city, starting out with the absolute steepest: E Roy St between 23rd Ave and MLK. Then if I get bored with that, I'm going to head over to the other side of the hill on Roy and sled down Capitol Hill, then Queen Anne Ave and Warren on the south side, then maybe W Blaine, then Queen Anne Ave on the north side, and possibly 4th Ave (I remember that being very steep).
Anyone want to come?

A while back I made a list of the steepest streets in Seattle. They aren't necessarily the ones you'd expect, and the steep section is only for a block or so. Here's the map:
Also, Denny was packed last night near the overpass. There were also some people going down Belmont near the intersection with Lakeview.

I think Christine called every place in North Seattle looking for sleds after we broke ours this morning. They are all out.
We ended up hacking one together out of a piece of plywood and two old wooden skis:
It's a lot faster than the old one!

Well, banning myself from the forums didn't hold up for too long.
My friend and I are taking various implements of skiing destruction to Gasworks Park tomorrow morning and sessioning the hill there. I'm also bringing a shovel, so if there's enough raw material I can build a kicker or three. Probably tenish.
