As they do every year, Cascade Orienteering club puts on the 'Bog Slog' the Saturday after Christmas at St. Edward State Park (next to Lake Washington, off Juanita Drive). Bog Slog includes Mountain Bike Orienteering along with the usual running about through the brush.
I did it last year, and all the mountain biking was on trails (duh, otherwise they mess up the park), so the orienteering aspect is rather basic. It's more a question of going from checkpoint to checkpoint and not missing any intersections. I know next to nothing about mountain biking, and I did it, so you can, too. If you're free late Saturday Morning (you have to start between 10am and noon) and have a mountain bike, you should check it out.
