So I have a little magnet project.
They came in today. I don't know about the the "FRAGILE DO NOT FREEZE" warning. Everything the Internet has to say seems to infer that magnets are generally stronger at lower temperatures.
Regardless, I have a ton of them. Anyone who wants some can have a pile.
I like the idea. Not sure I'm up for parting with nice magnets to idiot drivers. Casting pearls before the swine and all. But if I could snag a few, that'd be awesome. We'll see how I feel after I get cut off a few times with one in the holster.
EDIT: and as for the "don't freeze" bit, we used to use similar magnets to mark "PORT"/"STBD" on masts (graphic here) when we pulled them out of sailboats for rigging work. Turns out the magnet backing peels and cracks when it gets really cold. The magnet still sticks, but the sticker comes off, and the magnet breaks into several smaller pieces. Conversely, when it's really warm (i.e. in the sun for a long period of time) it gets floppy, and the adhesive on the sticker becomes gooey.

I figured he was making fun of my attempt at activism, but chose to err and be nice.

Motorcyclists have something similar. The text is completely different though.
This run was 0.20 each in the end. So for less than a quarter you risk violence or education. I think it's kind of like flipping a coin and exciting that way. Ya'll can have as many as you want. I want to see them used as I'm mostly interested in seeing what stories come out of it.

I love this idea.
Love it.
In people's face, but not in any damaging way. You simply can't get mad at someone who is so polite. I remember the last time I got in a yelling fight with some bitch in a landcruiser who TRIED TO RUN ME OVER for the unbearable offence of taking up the whole lane while I crossed the railroad tracks under the Ballard Bridge. Having this to slap on her car would have been nice when I was too pissed off and scared to properly express myself.
And just think of how ironic they'll look next to the "Support Out Troops" ribbons.
I'll take some, and the way I bike I know I'll use em. Thanks for making these Brian, they're beautiful.
