It's over, the sun is out, the snow is melting, the flood warning is past, the lark is on the wing and the snail is on the thorn. The streets are almost completely clear. It's supposed to be cold, rainy and windy tonight. Let's ride!

I'm thinking a shortish ride to someplace with hot food and beer. A roundabout route to Pies and Pints (I still haven't been)?

I'll be at the CIP at 5:30 or so.

I'm in. Pies and Pints is good, but it's expensive. I support the shortish ride ending in hot food and beer though.

Also, does anyone have a digital camera with a flash that they want to lend me tonight? I want to get a bunch of photos for this Environmental Lobby Day event happening soon (see links for info), and I don't have a flash for my camera.

What's up with all this short ride shit? It's fucking spring outside.

My D50 has the built-in flash, but it's at the house. If you want to drive there Tori oughtta be able to get it to you. It's in my larger camera bag with the glass in my room. There's a bunch of photos my mom took of the kids at the Phoebe House though, don't delete those.

Alternately I have my crappy P&S in my bag, which has a flash, but I feel like you're not being specific about the quality of the camera you desire.

I just want to be able to bring my dog. Una hasn't gotten to go for a real run in almost a week and she's getting unbearably twitchy. Although, if we're riding in that neighborhood, it doesn't really matter, 'cause I can just drop her off when we go past my house. She could probably keep up with a longer ride just fine, but I don't want to push it until I've worked more kinks out of the biking-with-dog system.

The P&S would probably work great. They are going to print the photos post-card sized and deliver them to various legislators, so the image file doesn't need to be huge.[/quote]

That's not what my bruised hip, knee, and elbow say from sliding across black ice at high speed this morning.

Yes, yes, I am a dumbass.

You know what is fucking aggravating and annoying? Trying to book a cheap flight from Taipei to Hong Kong when you have no idea how conditions will change when you're actually in those places.

Fuck this noise, I'm just going to give up and ride bikes idiots and fools one last time tonight. In five!

Yo everyone. New soul here, but I'd sure like to ride and imbibe. Where is this meeting place? Red square?

It's sunny and pretty now, but it's supposed to be rainy and windy tonight. I'm down for a longer ride too, as long as there is hot food and beer to be had along the way.

We ride in

Yep, and the prefunk is at College Inn Pub, Google Map, which has good grinders, veggie chili, and a surly waitress.

I have too many social commitments on my calendar for this week to make it to this. On the other hand, it is likely that I will be at the Elysian this evening; if the ride wants to make Ye Olde Vitamine E a ride stop, let me know and I'll stick around and wait for you fools.

I also wouldn't mind our first stop being Pies n' Pints. I haven't been there for years and I wouldn't have to scramble to make dinner before I got to red square.

All rides should be about my convenience.

I'm in. I passed my fluids, dynamics and operations final exams, so the skipper sent me on a break until Friday.

Also, stopping by Elysian before finishing at Pies and Pints sounds good. Lots of short little rides make for one big ride. And indoors stops on rainy nights++

Agreed that Pies and Pints is delicious, and also more expensive than our usual fare. However, they have happy hour 10:30 to close every day. Yo-yo down to Cap Hill, then back up to Roosevelt, with many a distraction in between?

I just got an corporate warning about high winds, I hadn't see this part.

I need a bike sail.

I'm in, though we better not stop at pies & pints. That would be stupid.

1) Drink a bottle of wine with a nice dinner
2) Go grocery shopping
3) Stop by pies and pints and notice that there are no bikes
4) Walk home and have a beer

Sometimes you just don't feel like riding in the rain... Hope you guys are having fun.

Success! We made it to Pies and Pints after hitting up Elysian in Capitol Hill. Waiting for my steak and potato pie now.

man, a ride that did what it said on the internet. what is this group coming to?

still, nice to get beer & pie with potato topper and catch up with the group. kalen's alfine-equipped 700c kogswell is pretty sweet too, even if he has the handlebars set up fully preposterously.

I think the weather dampened people's adventurous sides, but then Pies and Pints was a great place to end the ride.

First time this winter the rain has made it through my gloves.

Getting up this morning sucked.

Hooking down to Capitol Hill still made it 9 or 10 miles. I'd say 10 miles in the rain is still a bit adventurous.

Oi. I had to get up first thing and go to the DMV with my mother to prove she is who she says she is so they'd give her a State ID. Double lame.

Some photos in the facebook group and more dumped on my flickr.

All my clothes are completely soaked and covered in road grime. I sure wish I knew where my fenders were!

AND i got the hiccups right when I got home. The Beard was not amused.

I avoided a hangover by not getting out of bed this morning.

And those photos? Those are BAD photos of me. I need to stop drinking again.
