Based on other threads I believe I live approximately 5 houses from you (at least until Saturday). I have a Burley trailer that you can probably borrow. It's not that big, but would hold a tree or two cut in half. If I go I'll cut up trees and load them onto my cargo bike.

I have a vision of a blazing tower of x-mas remains atop the Bridge to Nowhere. I also forsee Joby jumping off the bridge when he accidently lights his flammable SAFE jacket on fire with a gin spill. I spoke with Ms. Cleo. She thinks it's a grand idea.

I'm gonna girlify it up in bringing spiced rum, chai and hookers.

After I picked-up the trailer from Joby last night, I did another run around my neighborhood (up at 80th) and grabbed two more trees. I tried to get a third tree on the trailer, but there were too many unsolved logistical issues.

#1 problem carrying X-mas trees on a bike trailer: keeping little branches away from the wheels. A little time spent with twine and bungies should solve this issue, but I'm open to suggestions.

Alex, thanks for the offer. Had I read your post before leaving work yesterday I would have come by.

So far I've collected three trees, and I'm reasonably confident that I can carry all of them. Walking my dog this morning, I saw four more trees. There are limits, though.

I am not hauling a tree anywhere. What I had envisioned didn't really work out. That being said, if Derrick wants another tree for the car, this one is bundled in an old mattress bag. It could go in the back seat.

On the upside, I will have cookies.

I am leaving the house at 7am to go to a training and then the Med Center for a meeting with higher ups that usually don't invite me to meetings. I won't be going back home before Westlake. The last thing I am going to do is drag that damn tree around all day.

Deven - sweet! I'll PM you the rest.

hmmm. The weather report tomorrow looks like rain. Lots of rain.
Would it be possible for the burn site have a covered picknick area nearby from which to watch the blaze.

Also, I suggest that someone bring a large quantity of white gas as insurance against downpour.

White Gas + Empty Beer Bottle + Fire = Burning Pire of Glory
Photobucket
(okay, the photos doesn't look so glorious, but I was slow on the draw with my camera. The column of fire shot up a good 6 feet. It was pretty awesome.)

You are not water soluble.

Bring a jacket.
Stand close to the incredibly hot fire.
Drink Whiskey.

Hey, Stanglor, Derrick's challenging you to a pedal tractor pull-off.

I wonder if they can install a PowerTap on one of those.

there are three trees in my trailer, in my basement drying out. i may add a fourth when i get on the road but it seemed like it would be too annoying to get into the basement. i plan on hauling them around seattle at least a little bit.

there are at least three or four more trees on my street up here in greenlake for those who are still wanting.

i'm a little bit worried about my bike's braking capacity under load, but not about the weather. current nws forecast has this heavy rain turning into light showers and dissipating over the course of thursday. if it's just sprinkling we'll have more than enough heat to evaporate it all.

don't try to second-guess our destination, by the way. it is a carefully guarded secret.

For those worried about the weather:

Seattle Office of the NWS wrote:

AND SATURDAY NIGHT AND AREAS OF FOG COULD DEVELOP...BUT THE UPPER
RIDGE WILL BRING BENIGN WEATHER THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

Translation: it'll be fine. Probably quite dry tonight. Maybe we can watch some Washington hillbillies float by in a river.

I have a big bag of bacon chocolate chip cookies in my bag. No facon, no regular chocolate chip cookies (sorry veggies). They go great with coffee, whiskey and muddy river water.

We ride in

Truth. Riding to work was a long, slow process. Going to try some cardboard around the wheels so I can actually keep up on the real ride. And, just for the record, my trailer brings five trees to the yard.
