What is beard and stache fest you ask? It's an entire month packed with friends, prizes, nights out, two-wheeled journeys, cheap eats and drinks, some friendly competition, and lots and lots (and lots) of facial hair. The best part of it is that every minute of fun will go to benefit Treehouse.
Do you have a beard and/or mustache you are proud of? Will it be in the peak of its hairy glory during the second week of January 2009? Are you willing to be photographed in order to benefit Treehouse? If you answered yes to all of the above, download Contestant Registration Form. http://www.twifseattle.com/beardandstachefest/compete.htm
Your photo will be affixed to a donation can and grouped with four others (to complete a team of five) to be placed in a participating location. If your individual can collects the most money, there are glorious prizes in store for you. If your team collects the most money, there are fabulous prizes for all five of you! Don't worry if you don't have furry friends, we have lots of lonely beards and mustaches that need teammates!
And... The Beard and Stache Dash takes place on Feb. 8th.
Part alleycat, part scavenger hunt. Meet at Linda's for brunch at 11am, get your manifest at 12:30, leave at 1pm. $5 registration benefits Treehouse, and you get free entry to the show at High Dive that night. You can preregister by emailing theworldisfun@gmail.com

Since Point83 seems to have the highest beard/bike ratio of all the clubs in Seattle, I imagine that there will be a good turnout. It's free to have your picture taken, and all the money raised goes to help kids.
Someone asked me why pictures of grown men with beards are being used to raise money for kids. I am unsure of the answer, though I'm hoping my donation can will be at the Cuff or Neighbors. Since the person or team with the most money raised wins a prize, the placement would be purely strategic.
And just so you know, the race on 2/8, is open to bicycles, mopeds, and scooters. No motorcycles. Prizes for motored and not motored.

I like that the only people who've participated in this thread -until now- are more or less incapable of growing facial hair.

What if you're capable, but decide not to for the greater good?

The first photo opportunity for photos went great, and now round two is up. Tuesday night 1/13, between 7:30 and 9:30 in the U district. You can get in touch with Amy via the website here There is the shoot Tuesday, then there should be one more chance, that's it. Your support is appreciated.
