The Fifth Annual!

Scavenger hunt, teams, bikes, beers, costumes... It's Halloween again! We can all count on the best Messquerade ever, just like every year.

Teams of two or more are required, $15.00 per head. Hopefully there will be t-shirts this year, Mess is working on it.

RAIN OR SHINE. Hopefully shine.

Afterparty is TBA as of now, info soon.

Cash prizes for:
*Best costumes
*Team costume
*Bike costume
*1st team to finish with a correct hunt.

Mess has bike frames for prizes, not new frames though.

teams need to be at least 2 people, he's not saying that there is a limit to the size of the team. get your costumes and teams together!

Unfortunately, I have to work until 9pm that day, but I told them that I was having a party that night, so the afterparty may very well be at my house. Talk about scary!!!

Yet another reason for all of you to come to my party after the race... all of the cool kids will be doing it.

The bottle says "Recycled Cycles" but it means "Insane Beer Power". Bring it!

I would like to race in this, anyone want to be a teammate? My bike is nearly running excellently, once i replace the chain I broke on my way home last night I shouldn't have a similar experience as to the Grape Ape.

They're on different saturdays. Reload this saturday (4pm registration, 5pm start), Messman next saturday.

I'm trying to make it to one or both, but may end up going to zero. Updates at 11.

oop. that would be correct. That's excellent. I'm looking forward to participating in both of these races and hopefully I'll be in a place mentally and physically to be competitive.

I'm interested in the ReLoad race, but my flight gets in at 1pm Saturday. If the airline doesn't lose my bike (again) I'd have time to make it.

Molly and I are definitely in for Messmenn's too. Anyone want to be our pimp (in costume of course)?

bump to bring this back into the conversation. 7pm seems pretty late, especially if takes three hours like the reload race did. also, $15 per head? wow.

but who is going to do it?

What do you have in the way for Ghostbusters costumes? I'd be down but I'm lacking in the costume department. Left to my own devices I'm coming as a zombie. Chicks dig the undead, I hear.

a knife? wtf, this is going to end badly. oh and it turns out that the $15 gets you beer for the entire night, so maybe that's not such a bad deal.

more info at morrispost.

i could almost see riding along (yarr, pirating) this one because i've got plenty of other beer drinking to do on saturday. though if that falls through, this is all kinds of tempting.

If 7pm is late, then you're too fucking old.

It's on a Saturday night. There's a party involved. And a breakfast in the morning for anyone still around.

This is the fifth installment of the messquerade so I think he's got it all under control.

Your $15 entry fee includes a shirt, beer, afterparty, and bands. That's pretty dam good if you ask me.

I guess I should have thought about this earlier. I'm hoping to do Messmann’s and I'm looking for a team or someone to ride with.

So far we have me, Molly and Scotty (??). We can take on more. Knowledge of obscure downtown streets that exist in an alternate location a plus.

there's also the small problem of me not owning any pimp-worthy clothes. i used to have an entire closet full of authentic vintage '70s disco garb, but offloaded it over the years (and various cross-country moves). also, the idea of earning a couple hundred bucks on saturday, while not nearly as fun as messmans will be, will keep my fridge full and bills paid for a while longer.

and henry, you get nothing back from me. what's been taken is taken forever. besides, i thought what we had was special. at least, that's what your mom told me.
