I realised that I do not have to work on MLK day so I decided to do an alley cat. Its called the King County Rubbing Race where each checkpoint will be at property that the county owns. You will get a crayon to rub over a plaque at each checkpoint. You get to route your own path and the checkpoints will be all over town.

I am still working out some details and sponsors which I will post soon.

This is an open invitation alleycat and I hope to see you there.

Its still on and I'm looking forward to it. Mobius is sponsoring with some track hubs. And smokes and beers is kicking down some beer.

Race starts at the lantern at Kobe Terrace Park.

Ill be there at 1 pm and the race should start a little past 1:30. Cost is $2 and a crayon is provided, however you might want to bring an extra one or some charcoal.

Thanks for your interest.

That was a good race. I had 7 racers ride from downtown to Georgetown, then to the finish at Gasworks. It was sort of like the Time Trial in the WestSide Invite.

Here's a copy of the manifest:
Checkpoints (route them out your self)

King County Jail
500 5th Ave
Give me a rubbing of the "K"

King County Court House
516 3rd Ave
Give me a rubbing of the year that this building was built

King County Admin Building
500 4th Ave
There are signs on the outside of this building that say no loitering or trespassing. Give me a rubbing of that rcw number.

Chinook Building
401 5th Ave
Give me a rubbing of the "4"

Parking Garage
420 5th Ave
Give me a rubbing of the handicap door opener.

King County Metro
sodo
Give me a rubbing of the close nit fence around this property

King County Air Port
7023 Airport Way S
Give me a rubbing of the arrowhead on the sign at American Avionics Inc.

Former Fisher Flour Mill
3235 16th Ave SW
This building is and owned by king county.
There is a sign for Seattle Bulk Rail attached to the fence. Give me a rubbing of the railroad track on this sign.

CSO Outfall When heavy rains fill the pipes, excess stormwater and sewage flow directly into local water bodies. These discharges are called combined sewer overflows or SOs

What number CSO is around: 1st ave nw / n 35th st
W Ewing St / 3rd ave w
[hr]

I was amazed that 5 riders finished with in 5 minutes of each other. Here's a route that some took. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2503431

There was a duffel bag full of beer at the finish line and everyone got a prize. Big thanks to everyone who raced, and to Mobius and smokes and beer.
