I like riding bikes. I like seeing new parts of the city. I like a small amount of delicious beer. I like tacos. I like campfires. I like people. I like getting home with my bike, skull, and dignity intact. Who's coming out tonight?

I'll be rolling for the last time before I chop-chop my knee.

Have you guys ever been to this place? It brings back "childhood family pizza joint" like nothing you'd believe. It's completely windowless, all the better to go there in the winter since there's no sun anyway.
A small pizza weighs over 2.5lbs - ALL CHEESE!
The decor is, get this, Wall-to-Wall David Horsey UW/Seattle 90's kitch.
Unbelievable, if you haven't gone there before, you should.

It is an inanimate big square paved with red tiles or bricks. How unfriendly can it be?
alex
True enough, but how *friendly* can an inanimate surface be either?
When it's wet, those bricks are mighty unfriendly. Especially if you're riding lower tpi tires. I've personally crashed once and had a close call several times. That square is one of the reasons I switched over to Michelin rain tires.

Yes, but some times things suck so hard they're awesome.
Ryan W's blonde sister for example.

Oh and Finn, sorry but we only ride around to the same bars over and over now. If you want to see new parts of the city, you'll have to move to a different city.

I'll be in attendance tonight. I won't be able to go super fast, so I think we should make it a somewhat chill ride.
Maybe I'll ride my cruiser so you can keep up.
I am only joking. It will be good to see your turning some cranks with us.

Hasn't Lee been compiling a master map of our route density? My data is neither recent nor scientific, but I'm guessing we need to go to COLUMBIA CITY!
What a lovely night! Perfect temp. Great bars. Loretta's get a thumbs up.

Adpowers, sorry we dropped you.... but then again, we didn't drop any bikes.
Westlake to downtown to Goldies on Airport.
Then on to South Park and Loretta's. (Big thumbs up.)
Then up to Owl and Thistle, followed by Queen Anne Dick's and bread dumpster.
Good game, kids.

It's fine, I needed to clean my apartment anyway. As soon as I get a new rear wheel I'll come out again.

15 minutes after you guys left, that jazz set at the O&T blew the fuck up and turned into this enormous jam session. A bunch of heavy hitters from Jazz Alley, dudes on tour, showed up and everyone started going at it.
I haven't seen anything like that since the Elephant Room in Austin, some 10 years ago.
Some guy who won the "Best Drummer In The World" competition showed up (don't ask me, that's what I was told). Dunno if he actually won an award like that or not but the guy was unreal.
Ken and I closed the place out around 130-145.

Was it Royce Shorter? Younger black dude(youtube)?
That jam at the 0&T has been around since I was in HS (probably before that). Used to be awesome but kind of fell apart, good to hear they're back at it.

Thats the man. Nice pull. He showed up with another dude equally as good and they traded back and forth in the middle of songs without -literally- missing a beat somehow.
Sick Johnny. Sick sick sick.
Also by the end of the night, two tenor sax players, an alto, 3 or 4 trumpets, a trombone player, 2 stand up bass players, a handful of pianists, - drum kit was small and tight. Maybe they have Tuesday night jam, but nights like that are rare. All of em improv soloists in their own right.

You should check out the jams at Faire on Olive on Sunday nights or Tula's on Monday's (except the lame 'vocal jam' nights).

Dunno if I could call what I did crashing my bike.
It was more like falling off of it, as one would a barstool. I just happened to have asphalt to smash my face into instead of a wood floor.
