I'm assuming there's quite a few of you who have Monday off for MLK day... anyone wanna do a big ride somewhere? 60+ miles? Or 70, 80? Hell, maybe even a century? (would be my first)
I'd kinda like to do the Lake Washington loop as part of it; never done that. And according to the quick-n-dirty map I did earlier in Gmap, it seems like if you did a figure-8 of Lake WA plus Lake Sammamish, it comes to about 80 miles. Or whatever; open to any/all route ideas.
Actually, if someone wants to be spontaneous and make plans to do this *tomorrow*, I’d be game for that too.. but if so, let me know soon, like in the next couple hours. 2oh6-sixohfive-five32three

It's been nagging at me lately that I've never done a full Century. Granted it's just a number, but I haven't done it. And it's a big, round, satisfying number.
Before Snowpocalypse came and messed up my plans, I had a theory about doing a figure eight around Lake Washington that stretched to include Lake Sammammish in the north loop and traveled around Tiger Mountain in the south loop.
Anyway, assuming my longish rides tomorrow and on Sunday don't destroy me, I'm into it.

I'd be totally into it, but I volunteered to do conservation work at Interlaken Park that day. "Day of Service" crap. Damn that MLK.

I was planning a Burger Run for this monday. I was planning on making it really late (8ish) because I didn't realize until the last minute that it was MLK and I'd have the day off.
Now I'm thinkin about starting earlier and makin it a longer ride. I wanted to make 4 or five hills around the city (start Cap Hill, to Beacon, to West Seattle, to QA, to North Ballard). Grueling like, so we' really want those burgers. And hey, who here couldn't use the training for the FTH race?
Anybody wanna do that instead? Milx if you're busy in the morn this could work for you. Other takers???
Oh and here's a picture of somebody who cycles much more dangerously than we do.
I'd be up for starting earlier... but my rainbike just turned its right brifter into a really expensive brake lever. I gotta see how much it's going to cost, and if they can repair it by Monday.
Let me get back to you on this. I might end up putting road wheels on the cross bike.

fth race, seriously? the fth race requires possibly the least amount of training imaginable.

That does sound fun; I like hilly rides sometimes. Kinda thinking though that tomorrow I wanna go more for big miles than big hills. So if one or more of you want to do this ride, that'd be way cool:

Or whatever, I'll go with the flow. Just wanna do some kind of big ride.
If we do separate rides, would definitely like to at least meet up for 1/2 lb burgers.

I did some pretty big miles yesterday (new personal best) and I'm feeling pretty beat up today. Not sure how I'll feel tomorrow, but I'd definitely like to ride.
I like your route because if I need to bail, I can. When do you want to go? Are you thinking of having stops, or just doing it?

Just talked to AndrewW and he's out too. If anyone wants to do some kinda big ride, talk to me in the next hour or so, else I might do something else. hmm, maybe that alley cat this after noon...
I pushed all the way to 100 on Saturday (with a couple breaks) and I'm a little beat up.
I'm going to be trying for a moderate distance ride (40+) mid-week and a longish ride (75+) on the weekend for the next couple. Let's make it work another day.

BURGER RUN IS STILL ON
Meet at Volunteer Park at the patio btw the Reservoir and the Asian Art Museum @5, leave @ 5:30. Standard pointy3 meetup protocol, ya?
Bringin a really great new girl to .83 today. She's a badass biker (lookup RAMROD) but defs not a squid. Sez she's interested in bike touring/camping...
I'm thinkin at least we should go caphill-beaconhill-georgetown-queenanne-crownhill
If people are feeling ambitious, we can still add west seattle btw georgetown and QA. My legs were sore as fuck yesterday morning and I rode around all day - just can't stay inside with this amazing weather. I'm more sore today. I can take or leave WS depending on the group - maybe we should decide when we're in Georgetown?
Yay fucking burgers!
Who's still in?

You should have done the alleycat. It was 22 miles of pure awesomeness!

Pics or the burgers didn't happen.
Funny story: they ran out of burgers; apparently there was a run on burgers, basically all meat products, because of MLK day celebrating folks swinging by the bar.
There was a call for food so I met up with the kids at the Chupacabra for burritos and tacos. Such good salsa... nom nom nom. II think there's a plan to roll there next Monday as there aren't any big drinking and eating holidays like MLK scheduled then.
