Cameron got this bike from her aunt, and the story is that it's a custom build from the Portland area, late 80's, early 90's, but that's all they know. It has a serial number lower than 20, so it seems likely to be somewhat interesting.

More pics of the whole bike, headbadge, and lug detail.

I'll make sure the finder gets a tasty beverage next time I see them.

I recommend posting this in Wrenches, Gears, and Routes where the answerers of these questions lurk.

Oh yeah and add a photo of the BB shell.

Alex, thanks a lot! That's awesome. Sad news that he passed away, but quite a unique twist that he was primarily known for being a punk musician.

Here is another email that I got verifying it and with a bit more info:
Quote:

Alex,
That frame was built by a gent named Steve Casmano. Steve built maybe a few
dozen frames in the middle to late 90's. He was an automotive tech and
body/paint man for much of his income and was also one of the better
rockabilly and roots bass players in town--that's how I met him, we were
both in local punk rock bands ca. 1980. This is in the past tense because
Steve died of liver cancer just about a year ago--and at 46 I think the
world could have stood a few more decades of him around.

He sounds like an interesting guy and it is sad that he passed away so young.

The bike Miles has was built by Steve in my old bike shop in 1994, with Tange top of the line tubing using lugs by Henry James. I picked out the tubes and Mary (my ex-wife, Camerons aunt) picked out the paint. Any more info Boxandrackguy@yahoo.com
