(I know these photos are huge, I'm too lazy to resize them tonight. Maybe in the morning.)

Just a quick recap for those of you who couldn't make Tuesday's ride. After careful consideration, the one-man pack decided to make a go of wonderful, car-free Lamma Island to the south of Hong Kong Island. Coming off the high-speed ferry, .83 HK was clearly in good company:

Quickly reaching a bike rental shop, we made for the south end of the island after making a detour up the first massive hill that passed by, which ended abruptly but had a nice jungle vibe to it:

After that it was an up-and-down shitty fucking ride through mountainous coastlines that paid off with the amazing little bay of Sok Kwu Wan where I stuck my hand into a bucket of cuttlefish and looked out over the bay:

Turned around, headed back the same way but stopped for a water break in one of the Kamikaze caves, where the japs dug out tunnels to store munitions and possibly set up high-speed boats packed with explosives to make suicide runs if the allies had attempted to re-take Hong Kong. I really wish the rising sun spoke card was in this picture, fuck all!:

Then it was a quick and treacherous downhill back to Yung Shue Wan but quite the blast - much yelling at old chinese tourists to Get Out Of The Fucking Way! - before the reward of me and Joseph Conrad sharing Beerlao bottles on the bay.

I know there have been some complaints about not enough kilometers each ride, too much drinking etc etc., but I think the hills made up for it. Check the route: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2534283

And since that wasn't enough photo spamming, I then ended my Tuesday ride by going up the peak tram and drinking on the observation deck:

So where is Pointy3 Seattle riding this tuesday? I suggest you prefunk somewhere with LOTS OF BOURBON, since it is delicious, amazing - and not at all evenly distributed across the globe, you lucky fucks. You ride in TEN (if my time-zone math is right...)

Did you take this pic off that giant white shinto gate lookin structure on toppa tha hill. I swear I have the exact same pic, but taken with a blurry real-film camera before we all went digital from my time there in ought-2. I was tired of being surrounded by sailors and walked up there one night, changed my shirt and walked around some more. I also have a picture of a friend's entire head sticking out the top of a topiary maze somewhere in Kowloon. Asian people aren't 6'4"

Do go check out the giant bronze buddha statue nearby

Do ride the greenstar ferry if it's still around
Do not eat at any pizza hut. I seem to remember dried fish pizzas w/ no tomato sauce [shudder]
