Come for the Race, stay for the movies.
This will be after the Race of Shame. If you don't want to race, you can still come by the boxcar and watch the movies for free.

brakes?
hipster cyst?
track bike on public road?

I bet he's wearing a helmet above the cut. Who wants to take that bet?

Buuuut... I like movies. And the boxcar. I'll probably go.

Don't be a dick. Unless you've got that bottle of butterscotch schnapps around...

See you there. It should be fun.

The film shorts played in NYC, and should include some shorts that have bearded men in wool knickers, porteur racks, brakes, helmets, lights, and probably even a bell. Possibly a reflective vest or two for the "disco cyclists". Something for everyone. Council of Doom is the "Feature" being the longest, at around 30 minutes.

Is that really a thing? I find it hilarious.

Only in an effort to classify and generalize everyone in the world. I find no better way to describe the folks on the road with the reflective, or even flashing vests, along with flashing valve stem caps, lit bar ends, multiple head and/or tail lights. You know them.
Maybe Rave-cyclists would be better put? I can't decide if mid 90's house music or late 70's Bee Gee's goes better.
To each their own I guess. I'm generally not one to promote bike on bike violence.

I'll bring the bottle if he's wearing a helmet above the cut!

Pics or it didn't happen!

=)

Touche. This flyer was put together by the filmaker, so, unless it's a cut from the movie, we may never know. I am going to venture to guess that this rider is riding sans helmet. His tights under the baggies may leave an ounce of hope that a skid lid is present? To wear tights but no lid seems.... wrong?

I've seen a few people do it. One or two was even a real employed bike messenger.

Ahhh, putting comfort before safety? What a thought.

And it's close to Ballard. And it's free. Race the race before, you'll have some beverage in there too. That's a win-win-win.
