From what I understand, a heavy Krypto chain was used to lock them together, but it doesn't sound like they were locked to anything besides themselves.
It seems likely that in the minutes that they were inside, someone with a truck popped them in the back, and is now undergoing the process of freeing them from the chains that bind. I'm going to check pawn shops this week, and put the word out in Portland and Vancouver.
Two other friends' bikes were jacked last week, more info to come on those.
Though these were probably isolated instances, the thought of a ring of bike thieves can't help but come to mind.
Best of luck to them, I know how much those bikes meant to them. Shitty situation for sure.

Might hit up Tinys in Ballard. Not saying he's anything but up and up, but I know he hits the goodwill for bikes often enough.
