need to borrow a couple of things for the FHR if you have them available:

10x10 pop up tents. could use two of these again. holler if you have one. i can pick it up easy. i promise to return them quicker this year. like these

2 burner portable stove for chili. used to borrow one from my sister, but she destroyed thanksgiving and i havent talked to her since. would rather find a less dramarific one to borrow this year. something like this

portable coleman propane style heater. something like this. i have these there just in case it's freezing and raining, havent had to use them yet. anything portable that makes heat will work. if it's pouring people will enjoy these while waiting for the rest of the pack.

this stuff wont be on the back of a bike or a trailer. getting delivered to us via truck., and ill take care of it and clean it up, maybe even deliver back with more propane.

holler at me if you have anything like those that we can borrow up.

I have a 2 burner stove you can use, but it is more like one big wide register instead of two distinct burners if that makes a difference.

As long as it warms chili in a 5-gallon aluminum pot, it should work. It has some means to control the heat intensity, yes?

I'll double check tonight.

It does have temp control. It might be a little on the lightweight side for that much chili.

I have one that saw a little damage at burning man but still works fine. Ken has one of those non-popup car garages from costco. Much more work to set up, but bigger and even has sides. I'd imagine he'd loan it if you're interested.

We have a pile of these as well. I have one without sides that I regularly use car camping, I think I have two more that I haven't run in a while or ever. Ken has one too that is 2-3 burner's that nicer, I don't know if it's the one we used last year or not.

They are in the garage. Could easily drop them off somewhere if you're interested.

It's got at least two hours to make it all warm. I bet it would be fine.

I have a stove if the one you're grabbing doesn't work. It's brand spanking new.

I have two large propane burners that would probably do a better job of heating big aluminum pots. I use them for brewing and can loan one or both.

They look like this:

They turn down pretty low for simmering. I can also loan a 7.5 gallon stainless steel pot or 15.5 gallon converted stainless steel keg pots if you want even bigger.

Derrick
How many of us will be setting up this circus? We might need some more clowns and a few safety nets.

alex, those look great but probably a bit more industrial than we need

ro, i think several people will be down at the finish line to help set up. it will be pretty easy.

the rough duties include
take trailer from me to the finish line, wait for my mom to show up with truck. unload truck (20 steps away)
set up pop up tents if needed (easy, all in one piece). turn on stove, shovel chili into pots to warm up.
guard prize boxes
drink free beer
mark down people on a list as they come in

so far you'll be there ro, and the cripple rogelio, and the half cripple henry (i think?). if anyone else knows they'll be at the finish line to help out can you let me know?
