Anyone want to go mountain biking tomorrow?

I can give one person, with bike, a ride.

I'm supposed to work on Sunday night and it could run fairly late.

So 11am?

I had a lot of fun riding Tolt McDonald a couple of weeks ago.

The guy I was riding with said it was a lot like a slightly smaller Lake Sawyer. That's further for me, but might be closer for Matthew?
I'm also kind of curious about the Snoqualmie Tree Farm trails.

Anyway, I'm not too attached to any one option. If anyone wants to come and plans to ride a 'cross bike - speak up. I don't know Lake Sawyer or Snoqualmie Tree Farm, but I think getting something not a mountain bike up the Tolt McDonald climb would kinda suck.

Assuming things go the way I have planned, I'll be on the Fargo with 29" x 2.125" tyres. Super Cross!

Or something.

Anyway, I'm ready to have my ass kicked by you people who ride more than me and have ridden off road in the last 8 years.

What size wheels does the Fargo have? I'll rock/run/rub the appropriate size wherever we go.

One preference though: I'll be coming off a double century from the weekend, so I'd prefer smooth and flowing, vice climby and technical.

Yeah, check the timestamps on that: two minutes apart. I was slowly typing my message on my ittybitty blackberry when you posted yours. We must be telepathic or something.

Sounds like I'll bring the FS mountain bike.

The climb into Tolt McDonald is really hard, and I don't know the other areas... Do you guys just want to hit St. Ed's?

If you're willing to come to my side of the sound, we can hit Port Gamble. Pretty easy riding.

Otherwise, I've a book with lots of Seattle area rides we could do.

Port Gamble looks kind of cool, but I'm going to whine about it anyway because work could run very late on Sunday night. What's your Seattle-side option?

I have no input to speak of here, not having ridden anything in town.

Also, how the hell do you get there? Wanna car pool Andrew?

Carpool's cool. I think we live pretty close. Have we chosen a location yet? I'm still in favor of something on this side of the sound - I'm going to be working super-late and want all the sleep I can get. :)

It's really hard? It is a couple hundred foot climb and there are only one or two sections of it that are technical, but they are really short. It offers a lot more terrain once you get to the top than St Ed's does.

I'd like to go to Port Gamble sometime, but have to work tomorrow.

How does Seatac sound? The area they do cross races in isn't too tough, and it's on your side.

That's cool. I've been meaning to revisit it on a mountain bike - I've only been there on my cross bike.

Fun place, was there last Sunday and it's in great shape. Best place for single speeds and no suspension.
My MTB is busted awaiting a part.

It looks like we're going to get a little precipitation tonight, so SeaTac will actually be good. Let's say South SeaTac, 1200? Meet at the lot on the left, just off South 200th Street, before 20th Ave South, which is the road you go down to get to the cyclocross races (it's usually gated off, so we might not be able to park at the races' location).

Call me if you're lost: (kitsap area code) 286 8549.

Banner Forest is usually worse if it's wet. Trail erosion and all.

I have a few mechanical issue which arose during it's maiden voyage last night which are going to prevent me from testing the off road abilities of the Fargo today. It rides, but I have some concerns I'd like to sort out prior to running it through the rigors of real off road riding.
