I have an old track frame I killed. The seat tube cracked about a 1/2" above the BB.

Can anyone here weld it? I'm not easy on the bike, so the weld needs to be strong, but it dosen't need to look nice.

Cheap is good, beers and a $20?

is it steel?

take it to a muffler shop(non corporate!) and ask them if they know anyone who'd like to take a crack at it off the clock for such type of reimbursement.

i had 6 hours of amateur welding done on a car part for 40 bucks through some acquaintances who happened to work at a car shop.

hopefully someone else on here can help but in this economy, anyone with a welder and no expertise in bikes might be willing to put the extra dub in their pocket.

i'll weld the fucking shit out of your bike.

seriously , the fucking shit.

right out of your bike.

or, if need be, clean it, make a sleeve, and REINFORCE it.

I am a champion of the peoples metal.

Rad, for a $20 and some beer? (more if a sleve is needed. What part of town are you in and what is your schedule like? I don't want some sort of Mad Max ride. But an ugly weld is fine.
