That was a great time. Who would have thought 30 secs could have seemed so long!! Seriously great time and holy crap Joeball did a awesome job. He made it like three rounds and got one of the best times. Ben also did good with one of the tightest most nail-biting races.
oh and greghxc and milx: you are going down next time.

That was a blast. Thanks Ryan, Greg and the ECBC crew. I'm looking forward to more roller races in the future.
Quick note: joeball is surprisingly fast.
quick note 2: Rogelio had the fastest time amongst the blind, one legged Mexicans.

We should race the rollersprints Slow Sunday style: ride really slow, stop every 20yds, have a couple of mechanicals, then give up before finishing and end up drunk.

I tried to ride home from Ballard at 4am with two flat tires wearing a top hat. So what I'm trying to say is: I'm training, hard.
Thanks all for coming out, it was a blast and a total success w/ your help. Thanks Rogelio for assisting in drunkenness. Less mechanicals on our side next time, promise.

Ha. Each sprint would last about 5 hours and there would be a required hug every hour or so.

If the top hat stayed on your weren't training hard enough. Just sayin.

Alright, way more fun then I thought it would be.
Hipster Gerbil Wheel Travesty gets a well earned thumbs up.
Thanks Ryan for being a good sport, and for putting this shindig on. What a hoot.

To say it again, thanks to Point83 for coming out. There was an amazingly diverse group there having fun together, not only because of the alcohol being consumed, but also because we all ride bikes. We may not always ride together, but we all ride. And that's the most important thing, right?
I'm getting a little teary eyed writing this. Stay tuned for more events, the system we are using will only be improving. www.emeraldsprints.com
Big thanks to Rogelio for keeping us hydrated with malt beverage.
Thanks to tehschkott, it was great to meet, and I'm glad you had a good time.
Also thanks to Roger at Small Cog Coffee for donating prizes for the top racers. He does small batch roasting and delivers by bike! www.smallcogcoffee.com
And I think it's safe to say that absinthe, ginger vodka, sparks, and rainier don't mix well in the tum-tum. I should have drank gin.

You know when SSR started out, we put a lot of miles on and were as drunk as any .83 ride. We'd ride to a bar, drink bloody marys, ride to another bar, drink more, ride to a store and drink in a park, ride to another bar, finish getting shiftaced and then stumble home. Sound familiar? And we'd put some miles on too. 30-40 miles was not unheard of. They weren't fast, but they were miles.
It's only been in recent days it's turned into what it is now. Which is too bad. Was a good ride and I guess that time has past now - but I think everyone can agree that in it's present state it's but a shadow of it's former self.
Not to derail this thread with some serious discourse or anything, here - have some cock.

Ahh, I've been on some very fun Slow Sundays, even recently. Also used to see 30+ of you guys rolling the other direction on Lake Washington blvd. when I was riding Long Haul Sunday by myself (again). At least SSR never got lost in Tacoma and ended up as 98 mile disaster... talk about the death of a ride...
Allright, back to saying how totally great it was at the boxcar last night. Seriously, thanks Ryan/Bike Bloc that was fun as hell.

Of course. The crazy differences in heights that people have make events like last night super important in us figuring out what bikes to get and all that. And I really didn't think that you were THAT short.
The bikes that we are looking at will be 54-56cm, with the possibility of adding a smaller frame size in the future. If the frames have a sloping top tube, they should be fine for smaller riders, and with taller riders, we'll be getting long seat posts with quick releases.
Hope you can make it out to the event we'll be doing next month. We'll be running at 100%. And there will be prizes!
