The House:
You will enjoy living in our house if you look forward to picking up a copy of the Harpers Magazines sitting on every conceivable surface. If you like the techy, glitchy, pop music quietly being emitted from the basement. The dog will run to greet you when you walk through the door. That will be Oli, he’ll stop barking after a minute or two. There will be stacks of gourmet cookbooks sitting on the dinning room table that you are welcome to flip through while you eat. There will be the occasional good spar about current affairs (mostly from a liberal standpoint) Cookies and baked goods will make appearances on kitchen counters with signs that say “eat me.” I’ll be the one constantly rearranging furniture, putting up lamps, hanging up art, then moving them again. In the summer we get the garden going. In the winter we have the occasional fire in the fireplace. It’s a big old drafty, brightly colored, sleepy, Wallingford Craftsman. It has lots of charm, and a few places where the paint has worn thin. The landlord is the best, and the rent is cheap.
The Room:
Your room is on the second floor, it’s a small space, but it’s livable and has hardwood floors. There is room for a bed and a dresser, but not much more than that. There are large There are French windows over-looking the garden and a tall skylight, and built in closet.
You:
We’re hoping that you’ll hang out and talk to us and try to contribute in some way, but we also have our own things going, so don’t take it personally if we rush past you to get to work on time, or say a quick hello before retreating to our rooms. We hope that you’ll clean up after your self, and pitch in to help keep the place running and relatively clean. Being open minded is a MUST, different backgrounds and religions (or lack there of) converge under this roof. So, if you’re uncomfortable with that, then you would be better off applying elsewhere.
Details:
The room is available April 1, but we’d like to get it filled quickly, before the 19th if possible. The rent is $300. Utilities bills are separate and don’t run more than $100 a month, and include Wifi. There are 2 ½ bathrooms and two kitchens. You’ll be sharing the top floor bathroom with 2 others, and most likely the main floor kitchen. There is a washer & dryer in the basement. Our storage spaces are getting crowded, but some storage is available. Sorry, no more pets.
Location:
Just off of 45th, walking distance from Wallingford shops, grocery stores, cafes. UW campus is also within walking distance. Nearby bus routes include 26, 16, 44, 510. Street parking is also available.

Last time our house did this, we ended up turning away many good prospects, for the housemate we all agreed on. This could work out as a mutual referral. Send them to us if they don't work out for you.
later, we can compare notes and giggle

Damn. My house is great right now, but it sounds like we're all gonna break-up when our lease runs out. That's not until late summer though.
I sure hope there's a bike house looking for a housemate (and a dog) when I move this summer...
I have a friend who's about to move soon - i'll send him the link here.

Sadly, my current roommates are against having another dog move in, although I'm sure that Oli & Una would get along famously.
We do have rooms open up from time to time, though.
