Has anyone here ever ridden from Seattle to The Gorge (in George)? Any idea how hard a ride it is?

It's just i-90 until to just before Ellensburg, where you can get off on side roads. It's not terrible.

i haven't done it personally but the only shitty part from what i've heard is crossing the river at vantage.
up until that point, in fact, you can just ride on the iron horse trail.

Looks like REMI had this figured out and hitched a ride in trucks across sketchy bridges.

A few years ago I did Ballard to Ellensburg (around 120 miles along I-90 and a drop into Snoqualmie), then the next day took the old highwy from Ellensburg to Vantage...which is a sweet steady downhill for about 10 miles.
I wussed out and caught a ride across the bridge but my 3 riding buddies walked it. There wasn't a lot of room, they were on 18" or 24" of elevated sidewalk for the structural portion of the bridge.
Doing it again, I'd either hang out at the gas station at vantage for a while and talk someone into letting me toss my bike in the back of their pickup, or I'd make sure I was well lit and ride the road deck at a quiet hour where there is little traffic...but I have a fear of falling.
The freeway shoulder is pretty sweet, just be very sure to avoid the storm drain grates just east of the summit that are aligned to eat bicycle wheels. A mirror is really helpful to keep an eye on those motorhomes that don't know to change lanes and try to either blow you off of the road or suck you under.
