Those look like Black Rock City lights on the left, so it's most likely that you've gotta build one.

I'm not opposed to the idea at all.

That's what she said.

The dude in the first post is obviously building one of these:

i'm pretty sure he's riding "bounce for glory", a kinetic sculpture 'bike' that is driven by bouncing around an offset hub. it can even be equipped with pontoons and oars for nautical adventures!

Those kinetic sculptures are rad. We found out that our boat was in the middle of the staging grounds for the PT race this year, it was a blast.

Given that he looks like he's having a blast despite the fact it's 20x wider than normal equipment and he's wearing a mask to avoid identification - I'd have to go with your mom.

zzzzzzziiinnng - oh never mind

I endorse this ride, and will have to carefully consider my choice of attire.

I made one of these in high school. I hand sewed fishing net onto an old mechanics jump suit. I spray painted and shredded a bunch of burlap and tied it on. I took it out to play paintball and had some one walk past and put their foot 12 inches from my hand. I was just lying near a fern. Once the group that walked past got a ways ahead they didn't know what hit them.

I believe I have missed 5 consecutive Thursday rides.
The longest I've been away since "The San Jose Era".

But I'm coming out tonight if it kills me. Ride bikes!

Have Edelux and fat tyres, will not make it.

Dang work and short staffing! Once we get our full staffing levels back up, I'll roll down to the WLC for the send off.

What kind of dirt are we talking about here? Those without at least cross bikes need not apply?

Probably the bike ride will be haaard, and you'd both be better of staying home.

Should I roll 20's or 40's tonight? Cause I'm leaning towards 20's as per usual.

Stupid cars. Why can't you handle dirt as well as bikes?

nearly 27 miles from wlc to home, tons of dark dirt making me wish i had charged my minewt. westcrest park is pretty awesome, as is loretta's. hope everybody made it home - we had a few good mechanicals with the double-flat and pump failure, plus a flat on e. marginal. i managed to break my chain down on the fremont trail and shortly after there was even an accidental ride off a loading dock. but no injuries. it also didn't sound like any of the dirt crashes caused injury, woot.

definitely andre knows how to roll this shit. a classic .83 ride, properly balanced between distance, new territory, and getting your drank on.

That was a great ride. It was a good night to be on a mountainbike. I was much impressed with the quality of food at Loretta's - that bacon cheeseburger saved my life.

Una dropped-off the end on the way out of South Park, but we had to head home anyways. Rogelio was a hero and kept us company 'till we found a northbound bus at Jackson. I think Una's limit for keeping up with a ride might be about 20 miles. Maybe I should start carrying human-branded energy snacks to give her 'round the 20 mile mark...

That was excellent. I have never before seen a bread-dough fight. The fiberfix spoke worked all night. The dirt was swoopy fun. The downhill bomb was very fast, anybody hit 50mph? Loretta's battered fish is the way all things should be battered.

I drank a Joose (good heavens that stuff is like candy) and expertly threw the empty can, from my moving bicycle, into a trash bin.

Later I rode off a loading dock. I managed to get out an "oh fuck" to make sure nobody followed me down into into the darkness, though.

We were riding east, toward where this picture was taken from.

I thought the grassy area was just a median in the parking lot, until I tried to go around it to the north. The trucks were not there last night.

-edited to add pic and remove google map link.

I hate google map links. Always fucks up my page formatting in firefox - tag doesn't wrap.

Cool pic Deven!
