yeah ive been working on a new style for the forums, and for the outside of the site. you may or may not see it turned on during the weekend here while i trouble shoot it. it DOES have some bugs, but im working on them. currently works less great in IE, better in mozilla/chrome builds.
it's also available in it's current buggy form under your profile by picking the skin "AI2"
about time we updated around here. eventually we'll get the outside of the website updated too, with races rides and info all in a current form.

It's very pretty, no doubt.
I do miss one thing already, and it's purely because I'm lazy.
At the bottom of each thread were two options.
"Previous Topic"
"Next Topic"
made it easy to browse through all the traffic without clicking back to the top directory each time.
I'd like to see that come back.
All around, looks good around here. Can't wait to figure out what any new features are.
thanks
Ryan

Is it possible to put the quick-link to "Westlake Center" back on the bottom of the thread so that you don't have to scroll back up to the top of the page if you want to go back to Westlake? I know, I am being lazy too and there are probably 10 other ways to do the same thing, but old habits die hard.

Right, so dark grey on black doesn't really work for me, and absolute pixel-sized textboxes must die.
But I really came here to gripe about the fact that you broke the RSS feed, Lando. The Federation is not pleased.

New gripe: Saying a ride in San Francisco starts at 'Berkeley' or 'Bart Station' is about as helpful as saying a Seattle ride starts at 'Bellevue' or 'Starbucks'.
Not that anyone ever rides in SFO...
Edit: IIRC, the two phrases you're looking for are 'Sproul Plaza' and 'Embarcadero BART', respectively.

I asked Qwest IT what the hell they were still doing using this, and it was more important to them that the 50something internal legacy software systems worked than my time-wasting internet surfing. They told me that they were beta-testing patches like mad and should have ie7 ready to roll out this summer. Hi, I'm from the Internet but I'm sorry your website won't work on my desktop....

Anything we should know re. avatar pics? Mine (and most) were still here right after the new forums started, but over the last couple days I haven't seen mine, nor certain others, on work and/or home computers (andrew_c, n_claw, envy3d, etc). And while certain avatar pics have always been blocked at work cuz of sites they block here like Flickr, all the above seem to be stored on the .83 site.
FWIW... work computer is IE7 and home is Firefox (and sometimes IE6... don't ask:). Fairly sure it's been consistent between the three browsers.
Also: just in Firefox, most of the peripheral text (if that's what you call it) which is normally white is a faint grey, kinda hard to read (stuff like user name, user location, posting date/time, etc). But the text posted in the body of an actual post is white. On IE6 and IE7 tho, it's all white.

Hey, quoting is busted in the RSS feed.
the markup within the entries uses class="quote" and class="inside_quote" but these are not defined in the entry enclosure.
You could fix this either by adding:
<style>
.quote {
margin-left:10px;
border: thin grey solid;
}
</style>
to the top of each enclosure, or by using style="something similar" instead of named css classes.
web nerd, signing off.
Also, the background sucks.
