not the longest .83 ride on record, but i still managed to get a ridiculous pallet haul in. the fire was plenty warm yet not in danger of rousing the local fire department. derrick could have learned a thing or two.

the saddest part is when it had basically stopped raining and we just went to the red door. food and beer, i suppose, but was that really all the distance we had in us?

Yeah, I was ready to do some actual riding at that point. Nobody else seemed to be in to it, so I went home.

Maybe you'd get some real riding in if you live in West Seattle. I got chased by a huge front-end loader from 1st to Alaskan. Then I paid a visit to my friends Ben and my friend Jerry.

my rain gear was not up to par for that amount of downpour. shoes were filled full of water sloshing around in there being held IN by my waterproof plastic bags. rei waterproof gloves are getting returned again :)

Hope Angela comes on a ride with some miles before writing the article.

I don't know where you burnt that pallet but it wasn't at Carkeek Park. I left Mars bar five minutes after "a group of cyclists left" and ended up loading my bag at QFC: weeny roaster stick, sixpack of weenies, six pack of buns (when does that ever happen?!), six pack of rainier, and a <COUGH> "free" bundle of firewood from out front.

That so called mountainbike trail is practically PAVED. If you are afraid of 6' wide gravel graded road/trails,,... then yes,.. stay away.

The rain had stopped by then but I was soaked from before and got crackin' on the fire ASAP despite being the only person there 9pm ish or so.

Eventually (nameblank) showed up and had a bite to eat.

Good times,.. HEY look it's sunny,.. off the computer.

plans are NEVER set in stone on these rides. almost never. especially not when it's bucketing water at us. if you dont show up at the start it's a good idea to call up someone on the ride and confirm location.

there's nothing like riding through that desolate park at night to find someone with fire and treats at the end. I rediscovered frogs still existed in this town. we even rode by the Rickshaw, but Devon had to drive, or something. cmon man.
