Space in the minimal suport vehicles is prioritized for Beer, Food, Cooking Supplies and cripples. You need to haul your gear be it on your bike or in a backpack.
--------
First off, we need a catchy tagline for Ben Country 4.0. Last year it was "No Country for old Ben". That is a tough act to follow, make it witty.
Secondly I need a rough head count, the first year we had 10+, the second year we had 20+, and last year we had a whopping 50+. Ben has footed the food and camping bill in the past but the stimulus money has run out and the group will foot its own bill this year.
Everyone will pay a fixed fee of $20* that covers: Ferry+campsite fee+food(vegetarian and meat option dinner)+barley pop+sag wagon tax.
You still provide your own bike, sleeping gear, cup, utensils, bottle of hard stuff and a baked good to share on the ride and for breakfast.
So sound off on this thread to say you are coming and give me a $20 with your name on it the next time you see me on a ride.
*once the final cost settles out, a rebate rounded down to the nearest $1 will be paid on the day of Ben Country.

I am down for this trip.
I like the keg idea. Who's manning support vehicle duty?

20 bucks in my pocket, delivered thursday night to you.
my advice on food would be go big and go cheap. something easy and cost effective like burritos. no need for plates (tortillas!). dont shop like ben and blow tons of money on expensive spices. plus, i love burritos so im getting my 2 cents in the mix early :)
if you're buying beer, buy FUCKLOADS. 13 dollars a head (post ferry price) should be able to buy tons of food and beer even after the sag wagon ferry tickets are taken into consideration. (yes kegs!)
if you need any food help, holler. i love shopping at cash and carry.

In honor of Dos de Mayo there will be a mexi/fiesta theme. Burrito bar will allow individuals to accommodate to personal tastes/needs. Costco/Cash-n-Carry will be utilized to cash in on bulk pricing while striking a balance between quality/quantity for our consumables.

(5) Dispensing alcoholic beverages from containers larger than two gallons is prohibited in state park areas except when authorized in writing and in advance by the park manager.

I'm in. Lacking a support vehicle I'd be willing to carry a stupid amount of weight in a trailer provided I knew where to end up when I got all lost and alone and started crying.

I'm in.
Making this thread a "are you going? Yes or No" poll would probably be an easier way to get an approximate head count.

I have a membership for Restaurant Depot, which is cheaper and usually better than Costco etc. Plus my numerous wholesale vendors for food and such could be abused.

I don't have a problem with that, as long as you don't get a cup.

Lots of 5L mini-kegs! Too bad the beer in them is awful.
I'm going.
The new forum background sucks.

Ben Country 4.0: "Uncle Ben's Perverted Ride"
This, for the uninitiated, is a reference to that old chestnut:
Q: What's white and crawls up your leg?
A: Uncle Ben's Perverted Rice.
...which is, of course, a reference to that staple of midwest pantries, Uncle Ben's Converted Rice.
(I know, I know, a joke that requires this much explanation isn't much of a joke, but consider the gauntlet thrown; now you do better!)

For those of you that need a tent there is a great deal on steep and cheap right now. But you've only got a few more minutes.
