You, in your shiney, thousand-pound metal box, careening around the streets, sucking up more than your share of fuel and natural resources, are a MENACE TO SOCIETY. Have some personal responsibility for yourself. That's what cyclists do. They (we) take our lives in Our Own Hands, every day, because we believe that riding a bike is a healthier, more systainable, and enjoyable way to travel.
So, when you're leaving your frat party, after date-raping that 19yo girl or boy, with one too many beers in you, I HOPE YOU DIE IN A FIRE before you run-down some cyclist, or god-forbid, a family of five, because you were fiddling with your ipod and not paying attention to what's in front of your car.

Still. Being run over by a bike has got to cause significantly less damage than being run over by a car... you know, like, having broken bones VS being dead...

Here's the email I sent him:
Dear Zack,
I recently had the extreme pleasure of reading the article you wrote for The State News. I must commend you: your thoughtful and well-written article has changed my mind rather thoroughly.
I am a cyclist, and for years I had been making the mistake of thinking bicyclists need to stay off the sidewalk. How wrong I was! Sure, bicycles are legally allowed a full lane in the street, and riding on the sidewalk is often (depending on local laws) illegal. Additionally, riding on the sidewalk actually makes you less visible to drivers, putting the cyclist at greater risk. But now I realize I just thought I was a Lance Armstrong! Except that I'm not a Lance Armstong! How can I argue with that? Well, I can't argue with that, because it is true!
Also, I another thing that I never realized until you explained it to me is how unfair it is for me to ride a bike! You are so right: if you can't drive your car on the sidewalk, it is cruelly unjust for me to ride my bike in the street. I really can't express how bad I feel about impinging on your rights so wantonly. One question though: if the sidewalks are for bikes, rollerbladers and pedestrians, and the street is for cars, where should we put pogo-sticks and Segways? I have some ideas about this (elevated pathways above the regular sidewalk, or perhaps a series of tubes), but I was curious what visionary ideas you might have on this subject.
