So I am going to this thing in a Titan-1 Missile silo in Moses Lake. It starts July 2nd. I want to ride my bike there and I am looking for people who might want to do the same.

You don't need to have any interest said geek event and I am not responsible for your entertainment once we reach Moses lake.

Current thought is take the whole week off and leave Sunday or Monday to arrive Wednesday or Thursday. Depending on my how many people want to go (if any) we could potentially arrange rides back Sunday evening.

What about the girls? Do we still just get to twiddle our thumbs and be bored?

Let me rephrase that, I understand that hanging out with geeks for the weekend in a underground lair is not everyone's idea of a good time. So if there are people interested in the ride but not interested in going to Toor Camp that is fine with me. But once we reach Moses Lake that is where I am heading and you will be on your own if your not going.

If you are interested in going to Toor Camp as well, then the more the merrier. But be advised that ticket prices are currently $200 bucks and go up the longer you wait. So if that is your intention better to decide sooner rather than later.

The ride should be awesome, I was thinking we would leave from Seattle but we could also start from North Bend. Considering its going to require some days off from work I think starting from Seattle is in order.

there is a 2 mile tunnel on the John Wayne Pioneer trail. Did I mention the 2 mile tunnel?

Probably a minimum of 30c tires according to this thread:

Oh yeah, there is a tunnel:

If that is the one burning question you need answered before deciding then I am sure we can get something arranged.

Thats not the part thats burning.

hEy0!

Ken, not to rain on it - because riding out to an ICBM missile silo for a sick party sounds pretty excellent to me, but I've been informed that the 4th of July is also the weekend of Joeball Mountain which is an annual point83 camping trip which if last year is any indication, will be riotous again this year.

This detail has derailed both toorcamp AND the 4th of Juplaya plans for me.

not to shit on what is becoming a less enticing prospect by the second, but the aforementioned tunnel is permanently closed.

well, temporarily, but it's waiting on $9 million dollars. good luck with that!

Yes, return to Joeball mountain will be taking the July 2nd THURSDAY ride on an OVERNIGHT camping trip. A repeat of last year and the last time this will work until 2014 & 2015 when the 4th of July holiday falls on a Friday again. That is unless we have to win back our independence from the Russians, ala Red Dawn 2, prior to that point.

Oh and not piss on your ride more but unless you cough up $9 Million, did I mention $9 million dollars? then you gotta take another route over the mountains.

Yup, we are going to check out the Tinkham forest road option and do some exploring for future bicycle shenanigans.

Here is a rough estimate of the full route I am taking:

Leaving Monday AM, have fun at Joeball Mountain!
