Late for meeting
Get flat on trail in sodo 3 miles from work
Out of tubes
Slice finger open taking wheel off
Patches turn out to be worthless
Getting blood everywhere
Wrap giant shitty patch around tube and fill up to see how far I can get

annnnnnnd btm comes rolling by and gives me a tube, saving the day.

Thanks again dude!

That trail along that busway? Man that thing sucks. It's like driving to the Baghdad airport, cross your fingers. You know what is really great about having cars drive on roads? They act like street sweepers.

Sucks in what way? Debris?

I've worked a lot with the city in regards to improving the SODO trail and it's been successful. I ride it every day myself (that I manage to find my way home at least).

yeah debris, mainly glass, that and collapsing fences hanging over the trail at eye level.

If you have had a positive proactive experience with that city regarding improvements and maintenance that is great. I tried it a few times and had bad luck, coming from WS to downtown it doesn't make sense for me to ride it so I have not been on it in a while. My lasting impressions could be outdated to its present quality.

I once had to dodge a homeless dude asleep on that trail.

At least, I hope he was sleeping.

There's some disagreement over who is responsible for what, being Sound Transit, Seattle, and the property owners. I've heard others complain about glass, but everyone I know who has stuck with it has said this problem is much better.

I haven't seen a problem with the fences, the temporary ones will be removed come July anyhow for the exciting opening of Link, which by the way conveniently changes the lights in your favor on a regular basis.

Getting trash picked up, the Platt buzzer turned off, and fixing a broken irrigation valve have all been resolved by walkandbike@seattle.gov

There's also a couple city of seattle folks that commute that way, which I think helps keep attention on the trail now.

Trash is still a problem, and I keep meaning to go up there on the weekend and do some cleaning myself but I've been too busy. Soon.

I once stopped with a couple other commuters while waiting for an ambulance for a homeless dude who was unresponsive and sprawled out across the trail. He turned out to be as okay as one would expect, but it was nice seeing the involvement from the other riders.
