Have we been to what the internet thinks is still "Atlantic City Park" across from Rainier Beach HS? It's been renamed as of Saturday when I rode by there. Nice park, on a beach, in the middle of what used to be the ghetto.
Sounder Band has the next two weeks off, time to bring back the stupid!

I think Derrick was trying to set the bar high and meet all 3.

How about Ed's Kort House in Greenwood? The last time I was there they had a huge selection of WTF burger meat choices like:
Yak, camel, bear, venison, alligator, reindeer, caribou, boar, and a whole bunch of others I can't remember because I was drunk at the time.

schmitz park dirt trails, poggie tavern, beveredge place, climb high point, bomb 35th from high point back to town.
Alternatively, you can go to the yen wor village for some serious karaoke and drunk townies, and then bomb down california back to alki.
Also, ben, I won't be able to make it. Sorry.

Llandover Woods. I'm sure there's a trail. And that's about all I'm sure of.
By the way, there's Tiger's Sports Bar behind the Fu Man Dumpling House (143rd and Greenwood), which I'm guessing .83 has never walked into. No recommendation here, apart from Fu Man, which is great.
Update: Llandover Woods has a loop trail. Well, there are stairs in the middle, but it can't be worse than Dead Horse Canyon, can it?

This is the best ride thread I've ever seen.
Sadly, I can't make it; Someone tell Ben.

It's not a good ride destination, but a great prefunk idea: there's a Zaina branch in the basement of the Labor Temple building on 1st & Clay. It's got the best damn Fallafel in the city AND it's got a full bar with absolutely no natural light and the best dive-y feel in the neighborhood (and they flagrantly violate the smoking ban with shisha hookahs, if that's your kind of thing). I was there the other day and thought it would be perfect for a thursday.

I don't think .83 has been to Shoreview Park yet. There's a good view of the Sound here (approach from the playfields, not the road), a creek, and a number of trails (the most rideable of them west of the playfields).

I thought we were thinking of new things.
Like that isn't going to happen anyways.
Oh wait, new things: Skip drinking, get some skinsuits and powerbars and gatorade and shit, and your time trial bikes. form teams of 4, and race around lake washington. Fastest team wins a fabulous no-prize.

point83 has never gotten drunk and then tried to remove a hornets nest. I hear there is one in Fremont. What could go wrong?

fourthed or whatever it's up to now. Zaina == teh awesome. also...
Park: are there actually parks in Seattle that .83 hasn't been to?? how 'bout one which we don't go to nearly enough ... Lincoln Park!
Bar: Alki Tavern
Ridiculous stunt: grabbing the asses of the Harley dudes at the Alki Tavern
(admittedly, i've got some geographic bias, as usual, in my suggestions... :)

People, it's a small nest. With generally easy-going hornets. I will evict them on my own timeline. Thank you.

1. South Point Passage Park
It is under a bridge, so I guess it is a good place to hobo drink, plus they have some sort of statue featuring the life cycle of a frog. So there's lernin' to be had.
2. Ever been to the Dray in Ballard?
3. I can't top the hornet's nest. That idea seems like the beginning of a cautionary tale.

In case is hasn't been suggested yet .... just improvise a bee-keeper suit with a bulky hooded jacket, thick gloves, ski goggles, and other stuff to cover every bit of skin, including rubber bands or whatever to seal the bottom of pant legs and such .... and just empty two cans of Raid or other bee/hornet killer stuff into it.
I once took down a volleyball-sized nest like that. nothin' to it.
Supposedly people even do this w/o the improvised beekeeper suit... if you hit the nest in the early morning or evening when it's cool out and the critters are all in the nest, the poison soaks thru quick enough that they don't even know what hit them. buuuut just for good measure, go with the skin protection.

Buzzkill! Hahahahah.... oh.
Also, in my duties as campaign manager I just got a call for a quote request from my candidate on bike-to-work-day from a guy who writes for velotopia. Maybe it's not the most professional that I told him about my love of cycling and .83?

I still tell that story when telling people about .83 and getting along with bikers

I want to chirp in and say that the the Happy Hour fish tacos there on Fridays kick ass.
But that doesn't help for Thursdays. :D

I amend my instructions, Laura. Do what I told you to do, except do it in a group of stupid drunk guys who aren't all bundled up like you. More targets than you if the wasps wake up, and all of them more vulnerable. Plus I'm sure some of them are man enough you can just leave the nest on the ground and tell them to stomp on it for you.

I have never been to the Dray on a ride or otherwise. Heard good things.
Also have we ever actually gotten to the Rickshaw?
Oh have we ever been to the Waterwheel Lounge in ballard? I have never been but there is an outdoor patio.
I guess it named top dive bar in some book or other. Plus in a bulleted list of features it says "Booze". Then lists "More Booze" father down in the list. I mean we like both Booze and More Booze.

We've been to the Rickshaw: karaoke at the Rickshaw with shitty food and no pitchers.
South Point Passage Park is a nice dark little spot, if I recall correctly: maybe a spot for fire? I'm sure nothing could go wrong with a blazing firepit directly under the interstate.
Also: I <3 boooze.
Should I bring candy, gin, and vermouth?
