I do not understand the love for tandems. That is not a criticism, I just don't get it.

Chehalis recreational park is the official spot but it's just a park and anyone can camp there for free. I recommend it.

i have room for 1 bike on the rack, you will need to find your way to ballard to pick up your bike when you get back to seattle.

i also have room for about 3 sets of gear to be delivered to chehalis. i think monie wanted hers hauled so that leaves 2. you'll have to get it to my place and retrieve from my place, PM for details.

meantime, monday bus and bike ticket for 30$.

How the hell are all you guys getting back to Seattle?!

I'm planning to stay the night in Portland on Sunday and head back sometime on Monday... anyone else doing that?

Stoked!

Sean - I have you on the list as having a seat in Lee's car to drive back to Seattle on Monday after the STP with us. Still want the seat? Please confirm.

If Suzanne still wants her seat too, then that means we will have a full car.

I assume that this: http://www.cityofchehalis.com/html/parks_locations.html#recreation is the location for camping.

If you paid, there's a baggage drop-off there.

http://www.cascade.org/EandR/stp/stp_baggagesvc.cfm

Also, there's another park:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=chehalis+stan+hedwall+park&sll=46.650477,-122.957373&sspn=0.009309,0.01987&gl=us&ie=UTF8&cd=1&ll=46.639839,-122.96495&spn=0.002236,0.004967&t=h&z=18&iwloc=A

which is closer to the river (more bugs, maybe) but not an Official(tm) STP drop-off and pick up location. Also, it looks to be a little further away from the I-5, but who really knows.

i can bring your bike back monday. do you have a ride home? i think we can squeeze you in the backseat (you're a skinny guy) but there are 2 car seats back there, with what might be 2 cranky kids.

if that doesn't work, you can have my train ticket back for monday, it also includes transport for your bike. (doesn't look like i'm gonna sell it)

the climbing wall is on the south side of the stadium, sorta the southeast corner of the parking lot.

see it here

on second thought it might be better to meet at the QFC so we can enter the starting parking lot from the north.

climbing wall meetup works for me. since 2 day riders can't start until 5:15am anyway (fuck STP is so early) i'm hoping that isn't 5am sharp.

we can "sneak in" to the parking lot by walla walla road (assuming google maps names are correct here). i seem to recall incoming traffic from the pend oreille rd entrance being blocked last year anyway.

Me and Peter van Wesep will be riding down in two days too, probably camping with you guys. The only issue is that we're still not sure how we're getting back. Oh well.

Anyone know what the bikes on Amtrak situation is? I imagine all the bike slots are full, right?

That'd be awesome! When on Monday do you plan on leaving?

Also, anyone know where to stay for Sunday night? Is there a .83 hotel going on?

i now have an empty seat in my car for the return trip on monday afternoon. i am currently hauling myself, caroline, sean, and suzanne.

remington, i think you should challenge peter to a sling duel to see which of you can get the ride.

this is totally random, but... if any of you were thinking of hanging out in PDX for a week afterterwards, I’ll be driving from there to SEA on July 19 or 20 and can give ya a ride back.

also I’ll be driving south on the 14th if anyone needs a ride.

Lee, Peter doesn't have a sling, so I ended up winning the deul. Goliath loses. The spot is mine!

One small complication: in addition to me and my bike, I'll need to bring back a small trailer as well (it's Adam's). Is that cool?

Sweet. You might get the chance to watch me almost die towing a load in the other temperature extreme. You'll see what I mean tomorrow morning.

Our little trailer is the shittiest trailer I've ever seen. I'm still incredulous you're going to tow it all the way to pdx. Have fun sir.
