We can bring October out after work on Saturday. I'm still worried about finding a mooring ball or a place to anchor.

I think Bobhall is out of town that weekend, and Justin is still working on getting his new boat finished.

Just putting that out there...

I've got one kayak, the red one that was used for the same trip last year. If someone wants to borrow it they can.

I've got a couple handheld VHF radios you jack asses can borrow.

Dorothy Rose is in. I'm not ready to offer anyone a berth, but i can definitely carry some shit.

I'm tentatively planning on taking friday off and heading over early in the day to grab a buoy. Maybe October can raft.

Is this something that I can't come to if I don't have watercraft?

What if I tie an inner tube to someones boat?

there is camping on blake island. ill be going over early on saturday to secure a camp spot. if you just want to go over and camp, get yourself on one of the boats for a trip over and back.

argosy also has a boat that goes out there from seattle if you want to catch that. im not sure of the cost/times.

If you could procure a spot then let us raft up later that would take a lots of problems out of the picture... rock!

Which is what I just did. Yesterday.

1. I'm not sure I'd call a Cal 34 "large".
2. Depends. If he has a naval commission, and it's a time of war, and in his judgement commandeering the vessel would prevent grave acts against the nation... no, he can't be hung. The Straight Dope has a pretty good run-down on posse comitatus here

I'm hunting, Moss Bay has a pretty good deal on takeaway rentals, and their fleet is all brand spankin' new.

I rowed at Moss Bay when i was a kid. The dude that runs it is a standup guy, which is funny because he's missing a foot (ben you guys would totally gel).

mmmhmmm. so nice I got to be with all those peoples in Bellingham too.

the ride home was sweet but I didn't take your advice and took a right off 212th by Silvana (anna?) and took a pretty nice route by the west side of I5, flat, easy traffic, to the slough bridges by Everett, from there it wasn't nearly as fun. very tired, felt like my head was going to fall off, thumb still twitching.

Gretchen said this was a blast last year and that I need to go this year... so hell yeah, this sounds fun, I'm in!

I have no boat though... can I wear a wetsuit and get dragged by one of you buff dudes? It'd be good training ; )

I have also found that at Alki Kayak Tours (http://www.kayakalki.com/ - called them, not posted online) you can rent a single for $85 on day one and $65 any additional day. Doubles are $120 and also $65 for additional days.
Shit, just realized it doesn't really beat the Moss Bay deal though... I'll keep looking...

If anyone is looking to purchase kayaks, The Beard's parents are selling their pygmies (14' and 17').

Completed Pygmy kit kayaks, both are Arctic Terns. Classy looking boats, I'd nab one, but I can't even keep up on my dinghy maintenance.

But you don't leave them outside uncovered in the water all the time, mostly, so they don't rot nearly as fast as a larger wooden boat.

I'll have you know that a) I bought new yachting garb today and b) I went for a sail on dorothy rose today.

October can have their pirate cred, we're strictly yachty chic on dorothy, she is a Hinckley after all ...

Has there been a post stating when and where everyone plans on setting off Saturday morning?... or are we just planning on meeting somewhere out on Blake Island?

Still looking for good deals... Moss Bay is cheapest but it's on Lake Union instead of out at Alki.
