Still looking for good deals... Moss Bay is cheapest but it's on Lake Union instead of out at Alki.
I've still got one kayak available is someone wants it, Ryan Keyline used it last year and didn't die. .

Sweet, is it a single? That could be rad... but I'm also considering getting a double and riding tandem with Gretchen

it's a single.
Will you cats be out on the west side of the island?
Don't think I want to sail out for the whole weekend, but if someone wants to buy my boat.....
We might take the dinghy over and camp for a night.

Whoa, that is the boat that my parents had on the Chesapeake. They sold it when I was just 12 months old :(

justin, we'll be wherever we find a mooring, with some preference towards the south end. We're a blue hinckley pilot named Dorothy Rose and we look like this:

Anybody got a roof rack that C-line and I can borrow? Alex said he'd lemme use his double 'yak but her car doesn't have crossbars.
Alternatively, anybody want to help me pick up said kayak Saturday morning before the meetup?
As for Sean's questions.
Last year there were only three kayakers and we all just met at Derricks house then piled over together in his car. I think it makes sense this year to probably meet at about the same launch spot at some reasonable hour depending on the tides and all that.
Oh, and having taken Justin's 9' toy kayak across last year I would highly suggest against taking that boat across unless the weather is absolutely perfect

We have Yakima saddles that will work on Yakima or Thule bars and adapters to make them work on Subaru bars. The boat sits flat and takes up a lot of the roof, but there is probably room for another kayak next to it if ours was pushed all the way to one side.

I have one. If you ruin it, it will make little children cry, so don't ruin it.

Ok, you've set my standards high. If i find out you don't have an ascot, you're going swimming.

Who is coming to this for sure? I'm worried nobody's coming out and if that's the case i don't want to fuck around at Blake all day saturday when we could be out sailing. So let me know people.

I'll be casting off Sunday morning for a trip to Port Townsend, then bike camping around the Peninsula, so I won't have time for Blake Island goodness. I'll miss you fuckers.

hey, can we park at shilshole?
from today at noon to sunday?
Yes, just don't park in the "permit parking" section, or they'll tow your ass so fast.
Park in the marina, facing the street. The closest two rows (to the street) are general parking.

im planning on going today and buying a new handheld waterproof radio. if anyone had one that i could borrow, that would be rad, razi is gonerz and i cant borrow his again this year.
if the dorothy rose could stay monitoring radio in the morning we'd feel safer if we dumped a boat. just covering my safety in case of 4.5 mile crossing accidents.

I'm around this afternoon and a bit this evening and most of the morning (minus a quick run to the farmer's market). I wake up early, feel free to call any time after 7am (and earlier if you let me know today that you need earlier).

Hey Derrick, I got two hand helds you can use.
I'll check back on the forum, but my cell is best after 1pm.
They are on my boat. If you're good at hoping a fence you can take them.
One is charged and ready to go, the other needs a boost. The charger should be on the boat too.

Where do you live?
I'm off 3:30-4. I can run by the boat after. I'm now living in West Seattle, I can charge them and have them waiting for you in the morning.

For the yachters and pirates
Gretch and Sean are swingin by my house 715 tomorrow then picking up Alex's kayak and heading South to meet up with Derrick.
Kayaks will put in from West Seattle, I'm guessing about 845-9ish.
We'll bring beer, possibly blow-up dolls.

Sweet, I just talked to Gretchen on the phone and got the low down, thanks for helping plan all this and glad we don't have top rent kayaks! : )
Now I'm off to Critical Mass, hope to see some of you cats out and about on this lovely evening!
Probably a stupid question, but I don't want anyone to be disappointed.
We have one tandem kayak, plus the gear for two kayakers (2 spray skirts, 2 paddles, 2 pfds, one pump). Did you guys find another loaner as well? I'm just hoping that 4 people (Gretchen, Sean, Ryan, C-Line) aren't all hoping that I have loaner stuff...
Also, do you guys need to borrow drybags? I have a few. The kayak hatches are sealed, but it doesn't hurt to be careful.

The total kayakers are
Ryan
Sean
Gretchen
Derrick
4 people in two single and one double kayaks
Two people can ride your tandem - for which you have provided all necessary accoutremont
And it's my understanding that Derrick has the necessary equipment for his 2 boats.
But extra dry bags would always be appreciated

Excellent. I just wanted to make sure that the people count matched the boat count...I was getting confused there.
I'll put the dry bags in the kayak bag.
