I won't be riding bikes tonight, but I am so excited for pre-funk at least. Man, I can't wait to get out of my windowless office!

I was just riding down in Magnuson this morning. They've got the old bathhouse fenced off (I think they're going to demolish it), and of course there's the whole playfields/wetlands mega-construction site. But the beach area and the road and path into it are clear.

Note: I think the water main east of the playground is still broken, so don't ride into the park thinking you're going to fill up your bottles at the drinking fountains.

YOU LIVE FOR THE FIGHT WHEN THAT'S ALL THAT YOU'VE GOT.

storms be damned, no rain fell and we made it to fremont to the last night at the triangle tavern. songs were sung, moves were made, and we drank beer well past the point that we should have given up.

fuck i love the summer. it's the best of the best when it comes to pointy3 rides.

That ride blew, but maybe with all the sand in the air that shore will be a little less rocky next time.

Three cheers for stormy lake swimming. As folks may have noticed it is a bit of a chore to leave DT at 7:30, stop at a grocery and still make it to a swimming hole in the day light. Anybody have any lake union swimming spots they recommend?

I forgot how awesome lake swimming is, that was fantastic.

Just after I left the Triangle I was almost hit by a U-turning Taxi pulling out from the curb. I managed to yell "Hey, fucker. I will fucking eat you for dinner!"

What does that even mean?

Also -If you're the guy with the dead tire from the sidewall/brake issue, I totally had some 700x23 tires in my basement taking up space. PM me and you can get them off my front porch at your convience. Sorry I didn't get your name.

The SW corner of Lake Union (by the Octagon) used to be a well-known swimming hole back in the 19-oughts. Of course, they've dumped a bunch of garbage and sawdust in the lake since then.

More seriously, north side of the Arboretum/Bridges to Nowhere area. Watch out for the canoes. [Yeah, it's not Lake Union, but it's pretty close and much less polluted.]

I survived the Kansasian tornado on the Burke and was rewarded with an anonymously donated tall can. Thanks, my beloved boozing companions!

I liked when the firefighters rolled up and asked, "who's in charge here" and Derrick immediately swaggered over to assume that responsibility.

Also good: Ben's intolerance for litter. We did a good job leaving that site waaaay better than when we found it.

Firefighters? You guys made (indirectly) Cliff Mass's blog!

See bottom of paragraph 3. "Someone was probably in trouble."

Yeah, someone called in a brush fire:

6/4/2009 9:16:43 PM F090051434 E38 6500 Sand Point Way Ne Brush Fire

The truck drove around for about 10 minutes and found no brush fire. But found us BBQing. Probably someone saw the BBQ from afar but could not see the people and mistook it for a B00SH fire.

Fuck yeah it was. I sat on the beach and just poured water into my eyes trying to see again. Yuck.

I don't get it... not only did I come, but I had an awesome ride - which I paid for by suffering through the Friday workday that started three and a half hours after I finally got home!

Is this what a hangover feels like?

EDIT: also,

But I wasn't ready for him to go. And apparently neither was he.
