Got this today

Dear David,
I know we sent a Braking News last night, but this news was too exciting not to share. The fight to complete the "Missing Link" is nearly complete after Ballard Oil, Salmon Bay Sand and Gravel, the Ballard Chamber of Commerce and others tried to poke holes in the City of Seattle's plan to build a safe, complete Burke-Gilman Trail.
The Seattle Hearing Examiner ruled this week that the Seattle Department of Transportation can go ahead and build a safe trail through Ballard! Please send a note to congratulate the City and let them know you support completion of the project today.
Cascade Bicycle Club has been waging battles in court and in public opinion for the Burke-Gilman since 1972! Nearly a decade ago, Cascade worked with the Friends of the Burke-Gilman Trail to reach out to citizens and local businesses. Hundreds of people contacted their city council members and mayor, and a compromise was struck with the obstructionists.
Astonishingly, the fight has continued. This year alone, Cascade has heard from many, many people sharing their concerns about the infamous Ballard railroad tracks and other problems in this hazardous corridor, and the Friends collected the signatures of more than 460 people on Bike to Work Day.
Battles for safe cycling don't come cheap. Cascade's legal bills amount to tens of thousands of dollars. Every dollar you give to Cascade's Burke-Gilman Legal Defense Fund will improve safety and mobility for everyone in the community.
We want to prevent a further appeal to Superior Court. We believe Seattle cyclists deserve to see the Missing Link completed. Help us show the groundswell of support for the Burke-Gilman Trail.
Tell the city why you want the Missing Link fixed, and forward this message to a friend.

And please give today. We have spent more than $20,000 this year in legal fees alone defending the Burke-Gilman Trail. We know times are tight. Every contribution is significant.
Thank you,

David Hiller
