So I've been having really shitty luck with bicycles lately. Both of my bikes with eyelets are not currently running. Hopefully one of them will be ready for Thursday, but we all know how this stuff goes.
So, I implore of you, my friends, please let me borrow a bicycle. Any kind will do: road bike, fixie, single-speed, mountain bike. As long as it has rear eyelets (or even a rack), it will suit me just fine.
I'm 6'0", so something on the bigger side would be preferable. I'd be happy to repay the favor in (almost) any way imaginable. I will also, of course, take full responsibility for the bicycle while it's in my care.
TL;DR: please let me borrow your medium/large bike with eyelets for the weekend.

dont know if you thought doing this, but last year i rode out there with just my messenger bag. if your gear is small/light enough, it's easy to do for one night.

Don't own a messenger bag - just panniers and a backpack that is too small to cut it. But if someone has a large messenger bag they would let me use, I guess that's an option.
She's all yours to borrow if you like. I rode this bike up to Green Mountain in May. You can pick it up tonight and slap your rack on.

Thanks for the offer, Andre. It might be logistically difficult/impossible though. You live in West Seattle, right? I'm hosting a BBQ on the hill tonight... how late is too late to pick it up?
The current issue with the Miyata is that the freehub is seized. The bike shop has it, and hopefully they will be able to fix it before the work day is over, making this whole point moot.
We will see... at the very least, thank you for the offer.

A freehub replacement or overhaul is usually a 10 minute job at any halfway decent bike shop unless you have some special one-off thing going on.

I have a loaner rear wheel, 700C, 6sp freewheel, 14-28 or so gearing, that is probably pretty similar to what was stock on your bike.
If you can't fix the wheel by today let me know and I'll bring it to your BBQ.

Do you need me to bring some tools?

Yes Jeff, I do. Do you also have a blowtorch and the will of god? Because we may need those as well.
Alex, thanks. We'll see how the wheel is, I'm picking it up at 4. The bike is currently running 27"s, but we may be able to get a 700 in there by adjusting the canti's. I'll let you know.

He speaks the truth. Cause that's what you're going to need to get that fucking stem out.

Weigh your options but the bike is ready to roll, 4-rack bolts and you are ready to camp.
Yes I am in West Seattle but a mere 4 miles from WLC. Early or Afterhours pick up will totally work, today or tomorrow. PM me your e-mail for details. If you need to leave a bike that is fine, it can stay inside.

Thanks again Andre. They were able to fix the freewheel, hopefully we are assembling the bike tonight. If that doesn't work, I can come early tomorrow to pick the bike up.
