Sunday 1pm. Roanoke & Eastlake tennis courts

Wear your best tennis garb, bring a racket, bring some oj and a bottle of champagne. Tennis & Mimosas.

We should have a few extra rackets, and a pile of balls (hic!), but bring along what you have. They are cheap cheap 1.99 at any good will if you want to pick one up.

Why? Because.

//EDIT. changed it to 1pm to make it easier to get to this after middle fork camping saturday night

Dang, tennis rocks and this sounds like a great event, sorry to miss it. I'll be out in the woods in Leavenworth, cheers.

I'm all intimidated by those photos of a woman (edit: whose name I don't think I know?) being good at sports, can I choose to just wear silly pants and drink heavily in the sun on the sidelines?

I have spare balls and two rackets to lend since I can't show up to this as I am working from 6am to 5pm.

I end up spending all my time in the penalty box. Go figure.

Can I bring my football bat?

I'm pretty sure a bratwurst is also designed in Germany and more aerodynamic than a badminton bird.

Derrick, can I bring some kind of pistol or rifle and get some of that target practice in we were talking about? Tennis balls require some skill, and requires one to consider safety and always bear in mind what's downrange, such as tennis players.

Perhaps double-barrel quail shot? Probably the widest pattern and, thus, the best.

Fuckin' A, they do. I still had fun embarrassing myself and watching Lee hit homeruns.

There should be more tennis without camping the night before... and also when it isn't extremely hot outside.

.83 tennis and mimosa day was absolutely awesome, was a great ending to the weekend. Kudos Durk for the idea, and kudos Andre for putting the camping trip together, I had a blast.

i was pleasantly surprised to not be the most terrible player there.

i also enjoyed watching derrick try to catch a (now-destroyed) frisbee with his balls.

point83 field day activities: supported. tangentially related, next time we find a soccer ball, let's keep it around rather than kicking it out to sea.
