I'm new in the city(actually I'll be it this tuesday) and want to know if you have some place where you meet and fix bikes with friends, drink and such...
I go to Seattle to join the Critical Mass. After that I'll go cycling to San Francisco in one month and will join the CM there as well :D
In Madrid we have places where we meet and fix bikes. Acutally it's just an excuse to make friends, drink beer and spend the time. I love it ;-)
I'm sure that you have the same in Seattle and I'd like to know them.
Places like this: http://lacriticona.ourproject.org/talleres.php
I'm looking forward to know crazy people beyond the ocean :D
Salud y pedal!
Besos

We have wrench parties but they're spontaneous. You should come ride bikes with us. We ride every Thursday at 7pm at Westlake Center.
As the point83 ambassador I feel compelled to point you to the TOS for your own safety.
Welcome to Seattle

¡Hola El Jeffe!
Y hola, El Fogg.

Since I don't speak the Spanish, I let Google translate for me.
I enjoyed:
"I think this time we will start with plugs" Umm... ok.
"and finally the race to the midnight to us to fart" Yes, of course.
The postscript came out perfect though.

If you need help with your bike, nomas writes something on Wrenches, Gears, and Routes "and can help you free or in exchange for beer. Arrange a "Wrench Party" and all I want is coming, get to talk, drink, and fix or install. If you want something you can go to trade Wright brothers at Fremont. They had a place where you can work back and talk with others who are there, here is a charge of membership to use the $ 30, but that covers you for the rest of your life. But if you want to meet people, come to Westlake Center to the seven, went to half past seven.
After Critical Mass is a race at midnight, the Greenlake Midnight Race. I think this time we will start with plugs, in addition to beer, at eleven o'clock at night and finally the race to the midnight to us to fart, we finished the drink, or do we pull the police. Three miles around Green Lake in Seattle, without lights.
Tequila and kisses,
-Roger
Or, if you want, we have the man or the girl of your dreams.
i'm not disappointed by you guys!
Actually I don't need to fix my bike, I told you that it's just an excuse to meet and drink. Ok, I'll be there for sure on Thursday at 19:00, I understood: neither helmet nor lights but with some alcohol. This Tuesday it's a little bit difficult, my flight arrives at 5:00pm and I have 14 miles to the downtown, but only 3 miles from the hostel to the Red Square..., maybe...
Thanks for the basic rules, for a while I thought that you were not kidding :D
I feel at home.

Actually, bringing all three of those is probably best - and don't worry, Thursdays are when we go "all out", you'll get plenty of us that way!
yay we have new international friends!

XD
There're no beer vending machines for fifteen years I think :( You've found an illegal spot :D
The government protects us against the danger of drinking a cold beer in summer, It's more healthy to drink a coke. It sucks!
And about the needle, it's falling down XD, you can't walk around.
So due to this we want to leave Madrid :P
Salud!

I'm sad to say that we don't have beer vending machines, so Seattle might not be the improvement that you are looking for.
My software engineering professor assured me that they had them all over Germany, but I also haven't talked to him in 15 years and maybe they've also been removed. He was very upset when he visited a vending machine here, picked "root beer" and got sugary soda water.
Despite the lack of beer vending machines Seattle is a pretty damn nice place.

They had them in Germany as of two years ago. Some times I really miss working in that lab.

Actually, if you have a light you'll want to bring it. If you prefer a helmet, wear it, too. If you're at Westlake Center (4th and Pine) at exactly 7pm you'll likely be one of the first people there, don't worry, by 7:15 there will be a large group of bikes and we'll be easy to spot.
