I want to go back while the weather is still warm and the river is fun to play in.

This is an awesome spot with a short or medium length ride in.

Andre's ice cream was a hit so I'll arrange for a repeat.

Change up -- If you need a ride, post on this thread and find a driver. Some people are going up Friday, some are going up Saturday.

Current status:

Scott: Fri Midday + Laura R. + Sean (Full)
Derrick: Fri Eve + Sean, Gretch, Alex, and a 4th
Alex: Sat Morn room for 1 or 2
Andre: Sat Morn (Full)
Lee?: Sat Morn +Caroline +?
Ben: Sat Morn +?

Just don't bring any greyhounds and expect any of scott's water bottles to survive.

Turns out that drunkenly throwing you water bottles, from a camp overlooking a steep drop to a river, at your friends filtering water hundreds of feet away is a sure way to lose those water bottles.

Refills: there's an easier way.

I like how the drinks derrick brings for camping are colored base. Suiattle Blue, North Fork Red. I just hope we never go any where that requires green drink.

He's making sure we're all healthier.

I'm glad to have never seen purple drink, and Monica: Bud Light Lime is icky. Just saying.

Jeff, you can ride your single speed and be totally fine on this. Not Joeball mountain fine. Like, Eastlake to the U bridge fine.

We drive to Darrington.

There is the option of riding from Darrington to the campsite (about 25-30 miles) or from the trailhead to the campsite (about 8 miles). The 8 mile route is on an old logging road which is closed to traffic. It's super easy, dead flat, and fine on road or mountain bikes. On road bikes a little wider tires are nice since the gravel is pretty loose in areas.

If you want to ride the whole way I think it is about 80 miles from Greenlake. Not a bad ride, but not a great one either.

I cannot wait to go back up. Fuck Yes.

I'm going up Friday night, coming back down Sunday with y'all. If anyone cares to follow or come with, holla. I can carry two bikes, maybe three.

YES! I can probably get the day off, so I'll be able to leave any time on Friday.

I can loan you a trunk rack that holds 2 bikes. It's a Yakima something or another.

Friday sounds awesome, but I think we'll be part of the Saturday group...

If anyone is interested in riding up there, and wants some company for part of the way, I'm going to be riding to outside of Arlington on Friday, leaving probably around 11:00 in the morning, or so. What I plan to do is take the 522 bus from downtown to near Woodinville, and then ride up 12 (or is it 9) to Snohomish, catch the Centennial Trail to Arlington.
PM me if you're interested.

man, this sounds fun, but sadly can't go until saturday.

riding to snohomish on 9 may be flatter, but in my opinion it's way less fun than going through maltby.

you may (rightly) hate me on the hills, but you'll thank me when you're riding through pleasant farmland and watching the freeway-esque traffic on the other side of the valley.

one note of caution: watch out for the right turn onto springhetti road. it sneaks up on you.
