It's been posted before in response to this sort of inanity, but I think it's worth posting again.

I'd say i'm up to a firm 42% likelihood of going.

Still won't give you a ride or share my food with you. Might barter hugs for drugs though.

I'm probably not going on this, but I have a tandem that would be much less "doom". Just a couple problems: It's still at my old house, and it needs a new rear chain. Maybe this is my incentive to fix both of those issues.

PM or give me a jingle if you're interested (253-359-4636).

Not to derail this thread with miscellanea. Heaven forbid.

Shit, is it that time already? Clair and I haven't made plans yet, but I'm going to say Sept 19th or 26th. Either of those a no-go for you?

Not to derail this thread or anything...

I think I found our cripple wagon. BTM, will this fit on your urban assault vehicle?

I dunno if you found a tandem-partner yet ... I'm not sure I'm up to the job; never ridden one, and I think it'd be easier to learn without panniers or partial-gravel road (?) ... however, if you end up hiking in, I'd be happy to haul some of your stuff in.

ditto- who's liz's tandem partner? i'd be willing to try but although i've ridden a tandem two or three times (on flat asphalt) i pretty much managed to tip over each time and don't want to cripple the cripple.

Everything fits in/on/behind the UAV. It's magic. Ask anyone I've ever helped move.

I've taken responsibility for ensuring she gets there.

Thanks for offering to help out regarding being the driver of the tandem, but Bryan's helping me out. If the multiple options don't work, I can take my horse Misty, she likes trails. And grass. Darrington is east of Stanwood, so I could almost ride Misty all the way there, she won't tip me over.

Sounds like Alex and Bryan are leaving saturday 9ish? Ethan and I are planning the same. Should we plan to meet at the 65th St P&R to carpool and therefore bikepool, it seems silly not to ride together. Locked and Loaded by 9:15. Well .... Bitches ....

Yes. The UAV holds six without anyone touching each other. It'd be silly for some of you to not ride up with me. I'm happy to meet at the Park and Pool at 8:30am or whatever, so folks who aren't sure can leave their cars there and climb in with us.

FYI
I am driving Mike, Diane, T-Ball, and myself to the end of the road on Saturday morning. Our rig is full and we are leaving Ballard at probably 8:15 in the morning.

Tentative plan is to ride the 6.5 miles to camp set up and then possibly ride back 2 miles unloaded to Green Mountain road, ride up 6miles/1000' Then hike the green mountain trail and get in some views.

I would eat fiesta but don't have the energy to count people, subtract vegans, scale for derrick's appetite, and throw in one for the pot.

Basic recipe in the past has been Rice-a-roni Spanish rice, canned tomatoes, canned pinto beans, frozen/canned corn. Add canned chicken if desired, Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, and eat in a tortilla.

We have also done tacos with ground beef and beans cooked in the pot and toppings all cold.

6.5 miles, and you'll have an easier time breathing with out a folding chair bandoleer.

Doesn't seem like it's too necessary to caravan up there if that's what you meant, tictoc ... but should we have a trailhead meetup time for riding bikes in? Seems like most people who are going Saturday are leaving at 9 am so maybe that means trailhead meetup time of ... 11 am?

Thanks for the offer of ride BTM, but me and tictoc, and also maybe jimmythefly (?) were going to do a quick trip to Monte Cristo on Sunday afternoon, so... (or do you and your peeps have any interest in that?)

Andre and I have already been talking about a trailhead meetup.

11am probably means leaving before 9am or not making a stop in Darrington. I don't care much for the Darrington "grocery" store, so I plan on not making a stop.

11am meetup at the trailhead, rolling at 11:30 sounds good to me. I want to be up there pretty early so that I have time to explore Green Mtn a bit.

The Darrington "grocery" store does indeed suck. If you want any food goods, bring them with you and use the Darrington stop in case you forgot something important which you can easily find in a well stocked gas station grocer.

I was also going to suggest that a 12:30pm/1pm trailhead time might be more realistic for those who are meeting up first at 65th and I5 or planning on stopping in Darrington. That means you can leave Seattle at 10 and have time to stop at the liquor/grocery store.

Oh yes, most folks know but there is a little mom and pop liquor store in Darrington. So don't forget to get ample supplies. A 1.75 Liter plastic bottle of something clear that burns your throat only costs ~$22. It is a little wooden building across the street from the grocery store.

Yup, yup a trailhead meetup is what I was looking for. The Green Mtn ride that afternoon, after ditchin' stuff at camp, sounds interesting as well.
