Does "ahem" mean "Sure, I can give you a ride"? If so, awesome.

I don't fail at reading, I just didn't know if the seats were full and, uncharacteristically, didn't want to be presumptuous. Mistake!
I'll see your open seat and raise you a full one.
Send an email just in case I'm still telephonically severed from the world, I have Internet access at home and work.

I'm looking to get out there as early as possible. So, unless there's another car leaving mid-day (I believe Scott's is full), I'll definitely take Derrick up on his kind offer. Thanks, Derrick! (Phone number sent via PM.)

Using the fine words of Rogelio, I am a definitely "thinking about this" early Friday ride up and definitely think I can get out of work around 11:00 or 12:00 from, would that work? If not, I'm most definitely up for carpooling later in the evening on Friday.
Heard word that Gretchen will be back in town and is interested in this trip too, and today at work I received a new meeting notice for next Friday afternoon and cannot miss it, arggg!
Which means that Scott, I can't get out early enough to ride with you and Laura (thanks and sorry!) and instead am now on the lookout for two carpool seat spots to join in the late afternoon...(sorry I missed out on your offer Derrick) anyone else?

In that case, I'll take this opportunity to trade up! (No offense.) That should leave one spot open in Derrick's car. Again.

Christine and I have one slot free, leaving Saturday around 9am, returning Sunday afternoon.
Spot perhaps for a gigantic bike and a mexican if Liz is coming? Otherwise, a normal bike spot in the alex-mobile... I'll bring my own extra pants this time.
LIZ ARE YOU COMING AND AM I HAULING YOUR BROKEN BUTT INTO THE WOODS? KGRACIAS!

Happy Stick: I have a largeish single wall tent you can borrow - it'll hold two people easily. I'll leave it at Derricks.
Poser / Chris - the seat is yours.

Sorry, the tandem length rack is taken by our tandem. If it's just your normal bike than we can give you a ride.
If anyone has a tandem length rack that they aren't using we could put it onto our car.

Bike camping is stupid, nobody should do it.
Lemme see if I can wash the stank of two sweaty weeks out of my sleeping bag in time for this...

Anyone want to partner up on food? I have no cooking gear but could provide eats. Beware of my restricted diet (gluten free, vegan). I'm thinking lentils, quinoa, trail mix, lara bars, and maybe some instant food from Madison Market bulk.

There is plenty of dirt and bark up there for you. No need to buy groceries. If however you want to go in on some steak, I'd be down.

I'd say there's at least a 32% chance i'll be at this failfest. I will provide my own ride and food and am not willing to share either with anyone else.
I was thinking 4 or 5 am. I want plenty of time to not get lost, and to stop for quick breakfast and lunch. I'd like to arrive at the campsite not too late, maybe time for a nap before drinking all night. I figure I'll stop in Darrington for last minute food and beer needs.

Scott invited me on a date to Suiattle, turns out it's a bike ride. Damn it.
Me and the urban assualt vehicle are in. Which means we can carry as many bikes as ya'll like provided we feed the beast as much oil as fuel on the way up and back. There's also my gihugen tandem that Monica has, if ya'll wanna use that, but the xtracycle is really the way to go. +1 for crazy points if someone ride the tandem of doom though.
Will likely leave early Saturday morning, meeting up at the park and pool as usual. Unless the hordes decide something else would make us prettier and more accepted.

What makes it "doom"-ish?
Cause I'll service the little lady if that's all that she needs.

Based on the condition of the rear drum brake, I built a new front wheel and added a front caliper brake after that. Seemed fine to me, it's been ridden a bunch and I've heard of no death in the family. Although after riding it Laura named it "the dump truck", so consider fair warning given.
Also, Scott says your in charge of logistics for Saturday morning.
It takes a while to stop. It does stop but it takes longer.
Laura and I bombed down West Seattle and we didn't die.
The two negatives that I think might bring on the bummer for a long ride is that it is HEAVY. Very HEAVY. The second thing is the seats are original and uncomfortable for a long ride.

buncha different options .... I’m up for any of these:
1) drive home via Mtn Loop highway, park at Monte Cristo trailhead, ride the four miles up the Monte Cristo road to the old townsite, just for a quick day trip ... still get home Sunday, but later than everyone else.
I'm in for option 1. Right now I'm planning on riding up from Seattle early-o-clock Sat. morning, so if I could reserve a spot in your car for the way back that'd be great. I need to be home Sunday night at some point. The old town site sounds cool, I'm definitely in for that.
Jimmy
OK I'm game for option 1, if you and/or tictoc still wanna.
tictoc, let's talk soon off-thread about when/where to meet Saturday morning... unless you've made plans to go up on Friday?
