This sunday we will be biking to Big Finn Hill Park in Kirkland* to play around in the cyclocross course. It will be fun even if you don't have a desire to do cyclocross. Its about 15 miles away mostly trails.
Meet up at Norms Eatery and Alehouse.
460 N 36th St
Seattle, WA 98103
We will be there for happy hour where they have Bellinis, mimosas, and bloody mary's on special.
Food at noon, departure at 1pm
*Note if it is raining hard we reserve the right to go somewhere closer.

So... they have the course set up but there aren't races going on (Roge's thread has the first raceday on 9/13)? Or what..? I'm actually pretty interested in checking out cyclocross (not that my current bike can handle it at ALL) but request more info.

Well the course goes along trails (including the hills, pits, and barriers etc) that are always there. We just bring a print out of the course and follow it if we want to practice race.

I am looking to put some knobby 34s on and try this out too. I have to be back in seattle 3-330 so I reckon I am going to leave around 10-11. Anyone want to head out then, hit me up and I will likely see the rest up there.

If anyone needs to borrow wide, knobby, 700c tires, give me a ring.
I think you'll get bored of the course relatively quickly - it's mostly grass or asphalt. However, there are a bunch of mountain bike trails on the other side of Juanita Drive that are a lot of fun, have barriers and run-ups if you look for them, and are just mellow enough to ride on 700x35s. So you should have a good time.
I'm a little envious, since I'll be working.
Anyone racing on Monday?

Just finished converting my Schwinn Sprint fixed to something crossy today. It needs a solid test ride. This desination is an excellent idea and I applaud it.
I know for sure at least a couple people are meeting at norms still. I would guess we will ride somewhere much much closer unless the very slim chance of majority screaming "DEAR GOD LETS RIDE TO KIRKLAND" actually happens.
