Doing movie night at my pad - show up at 7, we'll put movies on at 7:30. Swayze is on the docket unless someone has a better idea; we have 3Tb+ movie library to chose from, a couple couches, and a 47in TV with surround sound. Also have some bike tools and a bench if folks wanted to get to wrenching. Just sayin.

Point Break
Red Dawn
The Outsiders
Donnie Darko

As far as I know, there's nothing on the calendar for this date - if there's conflict, holla. I can be pretty accommodating.

2239 Boylston Ave E, apt #2.

Hell I didn't know you was in the neighborhood too. When you do google street view in front of your house, it looks like there is a giant gaping asphalt vagina on boylston. Is that why you moved there?

It's almost the dark season.

Might I suggest you all take turns hosting your pick of a Swayze movie on 'Swayze Wednesdays 2009'

First: Alex, that is terrible. Or wonderful. Terriderful?

Second: We could totally make this a weekly. I have a very similar movie setup (47" 1080p w/ 5.1) and need to put it through it's paces, as well as a large living room.

Hi Alex, my name is Andre, I make a lot of puns, they are pretty painful for the rest of the forum members/gchatters/FBfriends/twitternestmates I thought I tasted a 'Swayze Wednesday' pun/smoothie but I couldn't come up with one I could stomach in 30 seconds.

Schkott doesn't have it in HD.

Point Break is one of my favorite childhood films, so support its watching wholeheartedly.

Did yet another person write Point Break? 'Cause I think I just read "Point Break."

I hear Anthony Kiedis and Lori Petty are in this movie: they are cool.

Perhaps we should spin off the evening with Point Break.

Also: this website is why none of us will ever be FBI agents.

How peculiar Scott...Because I was going to host a movie night at my house on Weds, but you beat me to it.
The only thing is, I was going to show nothing other than Point Break- the greatest thing created since the wheel!

I believe that this is the strongest film that Swayze..and Keanu (x10)...and Anthony Kiedis...and Lori Petty..and definitely Gary Busy have ever made. It is quotable, filled with action and love, there are some sicky surfing shots, some epic, spine tingling sky diving shots, and we can eat meatball sandwiches when we watch it.

Last but not least, there are already too many P83ers who have not seen it (Sweeney included) and that's just wrong...Especially in light of the recent tragedy.

My final vote:POINT BREAK

Couldn't wait, watched it last night. I believe its because I have a bit of what doctors call a "Busey Fetish".

See Big Wednesday for additional Busey/surf related cinema.

I was gonna say. Swayze is awesome, but Busey is THE FUCKING MAN.

Lethal Weapon. That's all I'm going to say.

Yes, I remember that he made Escape From New York to break out of the Disney typecast. I am old.

Edit: I forgot about Used Cars. Because I am old.

Don't feel bad. I was sure Gary Busey was in 48 Hours but turns out it was Nick Nolte.

Nick Nolte/Gary Busey
Kurt Russell/Patrick Swayze

Also, Swednesdayze is awesome, and it is also a portmanteau - a blend of two or more words and their meaning into one.

I think a portmanteau is also a suitcase.

Just sayin

That Dodgson character was a pretty clever fellow when he wasn't obsessing over prepubescent girls.
