Hi,

Just moved up here from Portland. Looking for some cool people to roll with, seems like this is a good place to start.

1 reccommendation:

Put a brake on that sweet fixie. seattle is covered with hills, and unless you never ride more than five blocks to the bar, you'll need a brake so you can go fast down those hills.

As someone who both rides a fixed gear and has lived in seattle and currently resides in portland, you can get away with a lot more on a brakeless fixie in portland than seattle.

Yeah, I realized that the first week I was here. My road bike has been my main mode of getting around. I went down in gear ratio and the hills are tolerable now. Portland I used a 48x15, that's some pain up here!

Anyone know where I can find good spray paint? Such as Montana Cans?

I want to paint my bmx bike. Winter is rolling around and i need a project.

or is it illegal to buy spray paint in the city, like it is in Chicago?

you can buy paint here just fine. ive seen some checkers check for id, but rarely. not sure about super special paint, but there is fred meyer in ballard that has a wide general selection.

if it was me, id powder coat it. only 100 dollars but will last eons longer. (ive done both spraying and powdering)

one, that's WAY too much money to me right now. and two, it's a bmx bike. it's gonna get the shit kicked out of it. even if it's powder coated, it's still going to get chipped on the reg.

/// jimmythefly, thanks. i didn't know they were located in Seattle.

I have a yellow L swobo long sleeve jersey from around 2000 (right before they went out of business) that I'd sell for $50. Also a green Boure in L that has shrunken a bit (so it is short) for even cheaper. I probably have more wool long-sleeve jerseys to sell, I don't really wear them anymore. I've switched to just doing wool long sleeve t-shirts over my wool short sleeve bike jerseys.

Give up on it needing to be a jersey and you can normally find Icebreaker wool t-shirts (long sleeve or short sleeve) on Sierra Trading Post or Backcountry outlet for "cheap" ($40 t-shirts). Watch Ibex too, earlier this year they were selling t-shirts for $30ea.

i found a sweet deal at REI a few months a go and got a Smartwool long sleeve for $20. maybe i'll just stick to that.

Oh fucking shut up. You've already violated the TOS by having more posts than miles in the club. Now you're crying about some minor ribbing.

Gay porn forth coming.

Out of curiosity, do you normally go into other peoples' houses and tell them they suck? That seems like an awesome way to ingratiate yourself with them!

We fill John's house with gay porn all the time and he doesn't mind.

Integration: complete.

Are we still on for karaoke in your basement after the man-on-man five way overlaid with a projection of the Prejean sex tape shoot?

to be fair, I never said that anyone sucked. I'm just getting tired of asking some general questions about seattle and getting "gay porn" responses and nothing of substance. If that's the way it's gonna be, fine.

You know man, I'm not the smartest dude on earth as many can attest to, but if everywhere I went I kept getting gay porn responses - heck maybe it's just me but I might take it upon myself to try and figure out what I might be doing to cause it.

Ymov though.

Gay on!
