According to their website, it starts at Park Ave and Couch St, next to some elephant statue. But does anyone know if it usually starts with one particular street/direction? (you know, like how our Mass usually starts by going west on Pine?)

Reason I ask: I’m gonna be down there tomorrow, but without my bike, and ... I want to be a CM spectator for once!! My mom flies in tonight and we’re heading down to PDX for the weekend. And while she likes riding bikes, pretty much only on rail-trails (she doesn’t do well with city streets).

I guess even just people-watching at the pre-Mass gathering would be fun, but if possible, it'd be cool to watch the start of the actual ride.

When I've ridden PDX mass it has been tiny and did start at the statue. Theres so many exits from that park there's no one direction. I'd just go hang out in the park. Look for the cops outnumbering the bicycles.

Never forget that the portland police hate bikes. They told me so themselves.

The ones at mass were nice. The motorcycle cop in portland that gave me a ticket for not using the bicycle lane was a jerk.

The motorcycle cops at Seattle Mass yesterday that were riding on the waterfront trail at myrtle edwards and through the group were lame. Maybe it's a trends.
